Well my wife and I will be retiring to the Philippines this year(2022). We will start by building a pair of Air B&B Duplexes right on the beach in Sogod Bay Southern Leyte. Next we will build our own home adjacent to this. We have many friends and family all over the world who have expressed interest in following our progress. This will always be a small channel and will not be monetized. I hope some of the content will be useful to some people. please feel free to contact me at any time via email. johnthebrown0224@gmail.com Regards. John
Hi Charlie, The time has come where you get to enjoy the fruits of the 'orchard' you planned and planted so many years ago. All the house now needs is some occupants, other than workmen, cats and a visiting rooster or two😂😂😂
@@johnbrown0224 Well I wish I could say my investments are doing great but that would be a lie... I'm wanting to do this without selling the Arizona Home so we will see... 😁
Absolutely Gorgeous!! Saw the last Video as well but wasn't able to comment I know the Guys mix Lime with the Cement when they want no Cracking I've only learned this last Week actually on the Pool they are working on but yeah ! Marilou says a Jollibee now I can't wait to get back!!✌😉
Thanks for the advice. I think the last batch of sand we bought was not well washed and had some organic material in. This explains why some walls cracked and not others.....different batches of sand. Just drove past Jollibee........lines extending across the parking lot. Hoping the novelty wears off soon.
Hi Charlie, You and Rena must be making an enormous contribution to the lives of the local workmen. If other settlers follow suit, and more construction takes place in the area, local skills will be greatly enhanced and the economy will receive a welcome boost. And you and Rena will be able to enjoy the benefits for a long time to come.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow, Charlie, there certainly has been much progress ito finishings. The kitchen is already looking functional, but the sitting room now takes the cake. What a lounge suite!! The guy did an amazing job and it looks sturdy and comfortable. Your idea to cover it is a good one, cos you don't want the cats sharpening their claws on this furniture 😂😂 Almost time to move in🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Charlie, I'm glad you were able to make a plan to resolve the roof leak/s, before the house is furnished. I've always heard that flat roofs come with many challenges, but if anyone can make it work, it's my little brother. Love the granite kitchen, looking forward to seeing the cupboard doors and wall units.❤❤❤
Hi Charlie, Hard to believe that the house is practically move-in ready now, the final stages are right at hand. Once the furniture arrives and the kitchen cupboards are fitted, you'll be good to go. It sounds like even the cat approves. The fulfilment of years of planning: a real accomplishment. Yippee yay yay🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Charlie, the house and grounds are looking just lovely and the new railings are like icing on the cake. You must be looking forward to moving in quite soon 🎉. 🎉 🎉
Thanks, I agree. I want to wait till all the major work is done so that I am not in the way. It will be wise though to live in and test all the systems before the skilled workers leave.
Hi John..what area are you in..im from Harare originally and coming over to visit ..am planning to make contact with zimbabweans/southafricans living in Philippines
Hi Charlie, I cannot believe the transformation that the addition of stair railings has made to your new home. In a few days, it's gone from being a semi-completed building site to a liveable home. Great progress 🎉🎉
It seems as though nearly no forethought goes in to builds in the Philippines. The placement of that hot water heater is absolutely crazy. Nobody in their right mind would even consider placing it there.
Hi Charlie, I am very glad to see that work is taking place again, and you've overcome setbacks as they arose. I want Rena to come back to a fully complete, well-functioning home and it looks like that will be a definite outcome. Well done👍👍
Hi Charlie and Rena, It looks like there is very little left to do in the main house, so slowing down is the right thing to do. You can now take your time finishing off what has been a tremendous project. Love the big fridge: you can have a great time stocking it when you go shopping. Looking forward to updates on furniture shopping❤❤
Hi Charlie and Rena, You've come such a long way with this whole project and some setbacks are to be expected. As long as you learn from each experience, then it wasn't a waste. And, from the look of that roof deck, the fitting of lights along the perimeter walls should light you up like a mini-runway😂😂. Beware of low-flying aircraft looking for a place to land...😮😮
Looks Great must be settling for the Steps course they get Earthqukes as well I swear even the fanciest Places I've been in have Cracks on the walls!! I should perhaps do the Walls like Marble in the Future so when they Crack i can just go along with a Brush and Black..LOL Like those Electrical Das is Goot!!😁😁😁
Yeah, I never thought of Earthquakes as a cause. I actually wanted to do all my inside walls with Drywall in the new house. Problem is that we could not get metal studs long enough, so would have had to have them made. That, coupled with the fact that my guys had zero experience with Gypsum board walls, made me decide to simply go with what they knew best. Probably my biggest mistake... anyway, live and learn.
Hi Charlie and Rena, So happy to have a fresh video, even though things are slowing down, there's still progress. And it's good to see your vehicle parked in the garage, gives an impression of permanence. 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Charlie and Rena, So glad you are up and about, and updating us with your latest video. The main house is starting to look 'established' as you are approaching the 'Finish Line'. 🎉🎉🎉
