I bought this based off the hype and I don't think it's worth it. It's collecting dust in my closet now. At least the bottle is pretty, maybe i should put it on display...
I love your great descriptive imagery. You really help me have a good sense of the main notes in each fragrance. I have a sample of Lady Vengeance, It is a beautiful rose dominant scent with slight musk. but much better than Narciso for Her edp (the light pink bottle). I did a blind buy of Narciso for Her edp. The musk notes are very strong, and get musty and fusty the longer it is on my skin. Thanks for your fun video. <3
I got it but not to use it on its own, but to layer with my favorite perfumes that are quite fade. Ambroxan is said to potent other perfumes, so i hope that this time, my favourite perfumes will last and project 😂
The reformulated version doesn’t project, but the original was an absolute beast. It left a huge scent trail and that’s one of the things I fell in love with Cinema for waaaay back in the early 2000’s 🖤
Thanks for this review. Stockholm sounds like one I would love, the combination of citrus and rosemary. You mentioned that the champagne-like quality in the opening wasn’t coming from aldehydes. Where do you think it is coming from?
a lot of people have said that glossier you kind of smells like pencil shavings which turns them off, and i agree when i first put it on! but it mellows out very quickly and melts into my skin… not sure about the staying power because i can’t tell if my nose just adjusts to it or if it’s actually gone, but i reach for it daily 💪
I'm getting a really wet floral and deep green leaves, with a touch of green tea bitterness. One of my favs to have at home. Love the modern design of the bottle too.
I have been searching to replace my soul lifting perfume since the early 2010s. I ADORED philosophy Pure Grace. And those of us that swore by it since day one, KNOW that Coty changed the formulation & ruined this secret treasure. Not a perfume filled me with happiness initially, but after several years I was left lacking. Molecule 01 I cannot smell. Maya base oil got me excited again. Very clean like my beloved pure grace. But I hate oil. Using my otherwise useless Molecule 01 I layer it with Maya to amplify its projection. Also riddle original. Even with spray lotion & the oil, I can hardly detect it. Glossier You is the only one I've found so far thar cones close. Yet, NOWHERE have I found the heavy, intoxicating joy of the old Pure Grace. 😔
Out of all I’ve tried from this house: Sel Marin, Note de Yuzu, St. Clements, Zeste de Gingembre, Cocobello and Menthe Fraiche, Note de Yuzu was easily my favorite and I thoroughly regret selling my bottle. I currently have Menthe Fraiche and I absolutely love it. It’s a very transparent, clean smell that just reenergizes you and makes you smell clean. Cocobello, I wish a bit more pronounced with the coconut smell because I felt that the green notes stood out a lot more. The issue with Sel Marin is that it smells so realistic that it might be a bit challenging for some. It literally does smell like you’ve just got done swimming in the ocean and, as strange as this sounds, it seems to have this warming effect that’s almost as if you’re feeling the hot sun, beating down on your arm that’s already covered in sea water.
My favourite is Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I also like English Pear and Freesia. I love honeysuckle and was very disappointed with the Honeysuckle and Davana. It's long-lasting but very heady.
had a sample of glossier, loved it, but it's so hard to ship it to my country. thinking about getting the other two instead, hope i like them just as much
If the women in Monet’s paintings are wearing perfume, in my mind they smell like YSL and Jacques Cavallier’s Cinema. YSL was a blind buy for me and I love it. It has a beautiful, very even and balance silage and I experience zero nose blindness. I think it’s the cyclamen note and the mandarin that really stand out and give it its unique beauty. It’s mainly a Spring & Summer fragrance for me. Thanks for the review.
Not a perfume is a beautiful scent on me. It’s very soft but it’s beautiful. While it’s drying down I can almost get a hint of vanillary coconut. It’s really interesting. Definitely getting a full bottle
Good job ! To me , Portrait of a Lady and Musc Ravageur are absolutely unisex fragrances. Carnal flower is a total beast mode female fragrance. Having smelled each and every fragrance from this house , Portrait of a Lady and Musc Ravageur , are by far the best
recently i have a few fragrances on my wishlist: - kilian angels share - bdk gris charnel - ysl babycat - versace crystal noir - coco noir chanel - black orchid tom ford
I adore this perfume. I now no longer wear it on my skin, I smell it in the lid and it takes me back to where I was 10 years ago.. the nostalgia, it’s just incredible
