The narration had great influence in me as child 😅. Since then I have seen other men who are hedonists and seek luxuries as despised weak men, not worthy to be followed, unlike Attila.
What I loved about the classic AoE cutscenes were the accents of each narrator according to his civilization. Especially the scottish and the german ones.
Love how the intro mentions that the Korean army was able to repel the Japanese land invasion (in order to justify the land based gameplay) yet in reality most of Korea was, at this point, under Japanese occupation. Not a criticism necessarily, just a point about how AOE used creative liberties to make the scenarios mor eplayable/interesting
There is something lacking from the new intro voice actor. Maybe its nostalgia, I am very willing to admit it may be, but the old narrator/s (because I feel the issue is nascent across the entire series of campaign intro/outros) puts so much more performance and character into the reading of these little interludes that grant the scenarios much greater stakes.
The last 30 seconds not having music so that it builds up into the chilling ending is a sad reminder that even video games from the Late 90s/early 2000s had better writing than most TV shows of today
Castillano accent (THid, Thamara, etc.) is not here, but intended Anglophone audiences were apparently more familiar to Mexican Spanish anyways so... understandable.
Fun Facts: Guess whom spoke this in these cutscenes? Yeah that's correct. Richard the Lionheart foreigners of the Middle East, and Al Qaba, 🇸🇩. Mosque: A religious place for Islamic and Muslim/Judaism Faiths. Seriously true.
