I have been on the one in Taiwan at 300kmph. The first time was over sixteen years ago. So smooth and unbelievably comfortable with the coffee on the table so still. No ripple whatsoever even when we came to stop at a station. And all governments in the past have said and still saying how advanced our Country is with everything. That is more of a lie than the one about the £22 Billion black hole. Sorry to say but we are so far behind with everything and we hardly manufacture anything on the engineering side any more.
The saddest thing is... we don't have trains like this in the USA! Why... because Auto Manufacturers, Airlines and Energy (gasoline ) Companies pay congress good money to squelch any legislation to build them. In a perfect world, the U.S. would work with Japanese companies to build a system like this in the USA... but no one cares about what the average American wants, they only care about enriching themselves and protecting their turf.
Kilometers per hour sound fast until you lower it to miles per hour 300 K is only about 187 miles an hour fast but not as fast as it sounds in kilometers.
