Tim's best vocal performance, ever, 3/10. Being such an excellent piano player and song writer, he knows very well that his vocals are not up to paar, 3/10 at best, and this was his best. But his best doesn't touch Murray Head's 10/10. For all fans, who have heard the original, Tim's vocals are just not good enough to set them all on fire. Tim is a great musical comedian, a brilliant lyricist, an awesome performer. He is one of the best, maybe the best. He is Tim Minchin Superstar! And if he had followed the warnings he gives, he would have caused no one's ears any harm. Australia, your favorite son, Should have stayed a great renowned, pianist, composing songs, (and) nothing's been wrong. Writing songs with perfect text, would have suited Minchin best. He'd had caused nobody harm, No one alarm.
An outspoken atheist as Judas is some of the most perfect casting I've ever seen. I consider Judas the "original atheist" and having someone who understands that view so perfectly adds so much depth. Tim also makes FANTASTIC character choices and his vocals are GORGEOUS. He'll forever be my standard and image for Judas Iscariot.
You are of course free to define the word, "atheist", any way you want. Mirriam-Webber defines it as, "a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods". Some reserchers argue that the first signs of any form of beliefs in gods are as old as 200,000 years. The general consensus, though, is that belifs have started 70,000-100,000 years ago, and religion in modern sense about 6,000 years ago. 6,000 years is also the time-line supported in the Bible. Homo sapiens, however, have been around for 300,000 years, and earlier species of the genus homo existed 2 million years ago. This means that for 2 million years all humans were atheist. They simply could not believe in something that had not yet been invented. The literary character, Judas, seems, however, to be presented as a believer. He just did not believe that Jesus was God's son, a belief Earth's entire population shared at the time. So, with your definition of "atheist" (a non-believer in Christ being God's son), you have over 6 Billion people to chose from. And just like Minchin, most of them cannot hit all the notes in "Heaven on Their Minds". And just like Minchin, most of them are not well-suited for the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
That scene with the chained aboriginal women was very painful to watch. It filled me with disgust, sadness and rage at the same time. What a great show

Tim Minchin is have an Awesome voice and Amazing Version compare to all i'd here and watch verisions of HEAVEN ON THEIR MINDS. ILOVE the original by Carl Anderson and this amazing Tim Minchin Version. And nothing else.
Autotune flattened this number in the official recording for no good reason. Tim is a pro and his technique deserves an honest spotlight. Thanks for putting up this version.
Judas from jcs has and always will be my favourite character. When I heard that Tim Minchin would be taking on the role I did the biggest happy dance. I love him... and what's more, I could see that he adored the character as much as I do. That passion and dedication to the role comes across in every word, every movement. I was lucky enough to see him for myself when jcs came to Leeds.. that night will stay with me for the rest of my life :)

I LOVE his portrayal. He does trouble in the lower registers and when he has to go down. Not unusual for those who haven't spent their lives in vocal training. Still a wonderful portrayal.

Gabby Gutierrez was the only Filipino girl to play Matilda in the National Tour. Currently, no other Filipino girls play Matilda in the musical, but the musical was in Manilla with 3 Matildas that were all Filipino. Natalia Artigas, who was the girl I saw play Young Elsa in the Frozen National Tour, is my dream Matilda to play in a professional production company, though she has played Matilda before.
