Surprised the Phaeton made the list, bought an 04 in 2015, and still going strong with 373,000 miles on the odometer. I just change the oil every 5 k miles. Even got a steal of a deal ($ 12000 and it already had almost 194,000 miles back in 2015 and it was a clean title too. Thing is still fast as heck with that w12. All the other cars on the road look boring in 2024 while mine gets a good amount of attention.
When you do the next list of this kind can you put more consideration in ranking for reduced mobility. For example seat height from the ground is more important than ground clearance but nobody list that number! The lift height to get luggage/shopping bag into trunk. Does wheelchair / walker hit nicely into the trunk and how much usable space is left. Measure how much force it requires to pull the door open, heavy door is not good for granny. If there is a power liftgate is the button to close way up on the end of the liftgate or nice easy to reach at chest level on the body side.
Happy to see that #1 is KIA Niro -- I'm going to get a Niro PHEV SX Touring and with 33 miles of EV range, I'll only use my ICE about one or twice a week!! Yes, I'll have a charger inside my garage. BTW, CR rates Niro PHEV top score for PHEV (87/100) while the hybrid and EV models in low 80's. My Kona is now rated 62/100, making me glad that I decided not to lease another one.
I'll never buy another one. My car took a software update and now I'm having problems with features. Toyota can't or won't fix it and have told me that's too bad! Their leather sucks with my car showing wear at 24k and again, Toyotas response was just short of tough shit.
2 dealerships about the software. The factory sent me to another dealership to make sure my complaints weren't driver error/lack of knowledge. The seat, dealer told me to call the hotline. When I did, I was told that's just normal wear n tear. They weren't going to do anything for me.
The car was well within warranty. It's still under warranty until May 15, 2024. I'm now wanting to buy seat covers because I don't want the wear to get worse. My seat is always moved to the far rear position to enter & exit the car. It's not like it's in one position, and my butt is rubbing it worn. I've told that to the factory rep, deaf ears.
So what this all adds up to, Toyota is just living off their reputation and are no better than domestic manufactured vehicles. This is a Toyota Hybrid, Limited. Not a cheapie. But never again.
Beware any Hyundai product. Reliability and resale value are both disappointments. Plus many Hyundai models appear to have been styled by eleven-year-old boys experiencing their first burst of testerone.
Bought a Subaru Forester Sport 2019 new. Left me stranded 4 ( four ) times in the middle of the street. Taken back to dealer every time. Eventually dealer replaced battery under warranty. Found “ excessive carbon buildup on several components “. Car was less than 23k miles. Not happy at all.
Bought new a 2019 Forester Sport. Meticulously dealer maintained. Left me stranded 4 ( four ) times in the middle of the street. Taken back to dealer every time. Eventually dealer replaced battery under warranty. Eventually also “ found excessive carbon buildup on several components “. Not happy at all. Car had less than 23k miles.

Toyota dealers are keeping new car inventories low giving the illusion of shortages to keep prices high. Most dealers in the NYC area have nothing but used cars on their lots.
This video is full of crap with incorrect info. Toyota & Lexus cars and trucks are the most reliable ever made. I would never spent my money on anything else made by a domestic manufacturer or a Korean manufacturer. For me it's always been Japanese and German cars & trucks.
In UK it's mostly German cars and German derived cars we see broken down at side of road. Can't recall seeing any Japanese car stuck at side of road. I guess US is different.
I tow for a living... I'm between calls right now, but my last tow was a Toyota Corolla. Trust me, I tow just as many Toyotas as i do any other brand (except Kia/Hyundai, I tow a ton of those...) Gotta stop believing the hype! Every manufacturer builds good cars, and every manufacturer builds crap. They are all mass produced machines, and they WILL break down eventually... and no one has a crystal ball to know what will break when.
@leonel9110 it for the most part is hype. Not saying they don't build good cars, but they have their share of problems like any other car. They've had the same message in their marketing since I was a kid in the 80s.... they claim to be better than everyone else, even when that wasn't the case. Now we have a whole generation+ that's been hearing that since they were born. You wouldn't believe the confused looking owners when they call for a tow "But I thought Toyotas don't break down!" Surprise, pal, they all break down at one point or another. Then, as it turns out, they're too embarrassed to report the problem... vs the Karens I also deal with.... Recently had an 18ish year old Pontiac G-something I had to pick up, car looked like it hadn't seen a wash job or maintenance since new. She's like "I'm never buying a GM again!" I asked her has it been breaking down a lot lately? She says no, this is its first tow since she bought it new.... I'm like ma'am your car is 18 years old, if this is its first problem major enough for a tow, what are you complaining about? These people vote and reproduce. Trust me when I tell you, half the cars we share the road with daily have no business driving.... there's more dangerous junk out there than you'd ever guess!
Right? Everyone just needs to ignore all those years where the Tacoma frames rusted out in the first five years leaving owners with a useless truck... just forget about that because they are perfect!😂
It was click bait. Sure he said there was some negativity in certain aspects but he never said it was the worst, and he never said that there was anything better. He pointed out negatives, but said much more positives about Toyota. Mostly he was comparing bad Toyota to a great Toyota, eventhough the bad Toyota is still the best in its class among other manufacturers.
That's funny. My late brother used to call Toyota's logo Satanic because it looks like the devil. Horns and all. Okay. Not watching video because I own one and know exactly where they are great and what they monumentally suck at. First the good. Their drivetrains are some of the most reliable in the industry. They have competent steering and decent brakes. Their chassis are ridged and suspensions are compliant. Now the one glaring bad. They use cheap building material for all the switches and wiring systems. Their door handles have a reputation of suddenly just breaking off in your hand...inside or out. Their wiring looms are susceptable to shorts that can suddenly crop up out if nowwhere and leave you stranded with failing electronics. I've heard of people losing their headlights while driving at night and having to pull over and spend the night on the side of the road. Toyota also had a terrible problem in the mid 1970s with their 5-speed manual transmissions. They would only go about 50-60k miles before self destructing. Trust me on this one, I'm the one who did the real world R&D on that unit........you're welcome.
The alternative brands are worse. So, although not perfect, Toyota vehicles have a higher chance of reaching beyond 2 decades running lifetime at less cost in maintainance.Electrification of vehicles are misleading. You still pollute the environment to generate electricity. So Toyota, marches on.

"Why you should not buy a Toyota. " But buy it anyways because they are still the best there is. Misleading title is click bait, you then transition to a 180 lauding Toyota.
I think the powertrain information regarding the CRV is wrong. The CRV hybrid has a 2l naturally aspirated engine to go along with the electric motor. It does not have a turbo 1.5 L engine.
