I just tried this with my Spark and it worked without a lag. I wasn't recording inside the Meta Quest, and I am guessing that it why I didn't have the lag.
With this card charging the Switch and not the headset, have you learned through experience how long the headset will last on a full charge, if playing the Switch on it through this card? Thanks as usual!
I consider you the definitive authority on this topic, with all the many videos you have done, spanning across MANY different capture cards. Do you notice any visual quality differences between the cards? Do any look any better than others, or do they all look exactly the same and the only concern is the compatibility and whether you get 60fps, or not? I am still fixated on this particular card since watching this video a few times from you. It is also unfortunately still not available locally to me, but I have been wondering whether any capture cards give a crisper, cleaner, clearer picture, or not? What about sound?
Hi!! So far I haven't really noticed a difference I'm honest. I think if you look really close then you might tell but generally it's hard to tell. I have just done a new video that will be live tonight on the Hagibis capture card. That one has been good. You can also choose the higher resolution too now within the updated app. Keep an eye out for my video later 👀
@@husondiy Nice! Glad to see that video quality won't be a concern between cards. I am not going to obsess with a magnifying glass, so if it isn't noticeable during gameplay, that is good enough for me! BTW, REALLY excited to check your new video! Thanks for the heads up!
I'm thinking 4k hdmi capture into pc then virtual desktop to the quest. Total latency be about 70ms. This will get the best image quality but maybe too much lag.

I need some advice please. I’m so lost and confused. I live in the U.S. and I bought the exact same UGreen HD Capture Card from your video using Amazon Prime. And I hooked it up to both my Quest 3 and my PS5 using the exact same steps that you did in Part 5a of this video. But no matter how many times I have tried it, I just keep getting a black screen in the same Quest HDMI Link application that you’re using in your video, even though it shows that it’s connected properly. I can even hear the PS5 main menu, but it is extremely choppy with the sound going in and out. But weirdly enough when I click the screen for the specs it says the exact same thing that yours did: YUYV 1920x1080@60 fps. But the only difference is where your specs showed PCM16 2Ch 0, mine showed PCM16 2Ch 48000. I have no idea what that difference even means, or if it is even related to why it’s not working at all for me, even though I have the exact same three hardware devices as you do in part 5a of this video. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what my problem could be? Thanks so much in advance!!
On the PS5 and other HDMI devices you sometimes have to turn off HDCP. You do this in the HDMI settings on the PS5. Once done connect back up to your Quest. If that doesn't fix it maybe try different cables
You are a lifesaver, brother!!! That was exactly 100% the issue. I still had HDCP enabled within my PS5’s HDMI settings. It also would’ve helped if I actually took the time to read the little folded up instruction booklet that came with the UGreen HD Video Capture Card. Right there in the instructions, under the Tips section, it plainly says “For PS4 and PS5 users, please ensure to disable HDCP in the system options before using the video capture card.” Duh! Lol I literally found that tip right after I posted this comment on your video. But I’m still so glad that you actually responded, because maybe it will help out future subscribers to your channel that also fail to read the instructions first and just jump right in head first like I did haha! As soon as I disabled HDCP in my PS5’s HDMI settings, I went right back into my Quest 3’s HDMI Link app, and it was working perfectly with no lag in the video or audio whatsoever. It synced perfectly just as it did in your video above. So thank you again for making this video, my friend! This video walkthrough helped me out tremendously, and you are the reason that I specifically decided to purchase this specific video capture card. It works perfectly using my Quest 3 to stream from my ASUS laptop and my Nintendo Switch as well. Kudos to you for taking the time to make such a detailed and super informative video as you did with this one. You definitely deserve to be sponsored by UGreen!!! Cheers, brother! 🤜🤛
From a Professional Chef ...Please put a damp cloth under your chopping board when prepping, it wil stop it moving around all over the place...hope this helps :-)
Interestingly, I did a splitter between the ugreen capture card and the headset and it eliminated the little square issue. I'd suggest trying this: HDMI > Ugreen CaptureCard > Splitter (USB A for data, USB C for charging) and I needed a USB C female to USB A male to plug that in > Splitter to headset I also went splitter to extension so I don't have all that crazy hanging down from me headset. I get full screen with Ugreen baybee
Does the framerate and resolution display on the bottom corner eventually go away? It could be annoying trying to access hidden icons to troubleshoot Citrix Workspace on the bottom corner. Thank you.
So theoretically the more expensive J5create Capture Cards like the JVA14 should also work as well if not better than this card ??? I have the Quest 2, but will get a Quest 3 at some point and want the best results possible...
Have you already checked out the Genki Shadowcast 2? I heard it has very low latency. It might not have pass-through charging but you can use any USB hub (like Anker) with pass-through on the Quest, no real reason it has to be built into the capture card/dongle itself. You know, I bet you could make a neat setup with a 60Ghz (like Peakdo) wireless dongle and get a cool wireless setup going.
Thank you for video! I need a capture card for using on Nintendo Switch and on Meta Quest 3, in several ways and without losing video/audio quality and latency peaks. I want to stream to Twitch from these devices and I would like also check a possibility to send audio/video from Switch to MQ3, sounds like a nice idea, at least to give a shot. So the question is if this model is capable to please my needs 😁 Or maybe another J5 model? Or Ugreen or something? Thank you in advance for the answer!
Fantastic video. I was looking for exactly this. So you feel this Ugreen would be better than the Hagibis? Do you need to worry about charging the Switch for it to work? What if I don't mind being limited to how long the Switch works and just use it until the battery dies, will it still pass through audio/video, or does it need to be powered?
@@husondiy Thank you so much for this information. I wasn't sure if the power was just needed to charge the switch so it wouldn't die, but it sounds like it's needed in order for the functionality to exist. This is good to know and I will have a power bank ready when I try this. Thanks so much again for the great video.
@@husondiy Sorry to be annoying, you mentioned the Ugreen USB C extension cable, but didn't actually show it in use in the video. Did you have a chance to try this out and does the extension cable work and without any loss in quality, frame rate, or introduced latency? Do you happen to have a link to the exact extension cable you got, as I don't see it in the description. Thanks so much again! I have liked and subscribed and look forward to your upcoming video on the Hagibis capture card!
Hi!!! This is the one I used amzn.to/4dM4Tqh Worked absolutely fine, no obvious problems seen with delay/latency/speed etc Let me know if you have any other questions 👍🏻
@@husondiy This is perfect! This is the exact one I was looking at on Amazon Canada and wanted confirmation. Sometimes, some regions get different models and didn't want to make a bad choice! Unfortunately, the Ugreen capture card is out of stock here in Canada, but as soon as it comes in I am going to grab it, along with that extension cable. I can't wait! Thanks again for your time and patience in dealing with me. I am glad the extension cable added no ill side effects when used, as I definitely want to prolong the port on the headset!
It all depends on which capture card you use to be honest. Also the app is still in development so hopefully we'll see some better support and features etc.
@@husondiy hello, no it’s impossible as though the tiny ovals line up, they’re too soft to retain shape or wrap around or anything I’ve tried, so now I have one without a tip. I’d love to see if you can do it and share !
Thanks for the code, just ordered lenses for the PSVR2 (for PC use now with the adapter). Looking forward.. My last and only VR experience was with the PSVR1 many years ago..
What is so hard about these things just being plug and Play? I mean the quest is advertised to be a stand-alone put on and play thing.. it being used as a monitor/tv is just a no-brainer
that's awesome for switch. thanks for the video. but if I want to plug my PS5 or Apple TV? is there an adapter usb c female to HDMI or something like that? this ugreen capture card price is great and works perfectly. just need a way to plug hdmi on it for other devices...
There are multiple options available to you!. I covered the below capture card in a recent video: Video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-48ENbk_kTvY.htmlsi=lxBkunVRk_KjIO4I J5 Create Capture Card - amzn.to/3B18cer There is another capture card called the Hagibis 3.0 Capture Card with PD Power. They are currently only available on Ali Express, but could be the best option. Once I have that I'll be doing a review too.
I came to see if it was compatible with Quest 2, In minute 1 I realized the answer, then I see that the video lasts more than an hour and I cleverly decided not to see it but like it in the same way.
Using the hagibis capture and the the hagibis usb c to HDMI with PD pass-through doesn't keep a steady 60 it jumps from 50-60 but using the hagibis switch 3.0 capture card and a usb c hub with passthrough provided a steady 60
Thanks for this info. Do you have exact links to these products you mention? There seems to be many variations and I want to make sure I get the right one. Thank you.
J5 is now at £51.. I got the ugreen..build quality is shockingly cheap.horrid plastic socketets that move on insertion.a mention of build quality would be nice in reviews.i can't get my elgato hd60 to display no capture device detected.
I bought the ugreen capture care that you have, but when I plug it into my quest, it only takes up a small portion of the top left-hand corner of my screen. How do I fix that?
Hi there!! Yes the side loaded applications seem to accept a better range of capture cards. Hopefully they support more and more going forward on the Meta HDMI Link app.
