what does that mean "with no training" in the title...... = please specific dude !............. / If I have not flown for 3 years and feel the need for a flight then I also can say "with not training"...... ??
i built a Benson gyrocopter from a kit, run that thing on an old airport runway for a year, about wore the tires out, had no help from any one. i finally got the nerve to try to fly the thing, i flew that thing for a year, sold it before i killed myself you only live once, go for it
Maybe you don’t mind risking your own life. Without proper training, you also the lives of those of innocent people on the ground and in the air. Do you know anything about controlled airspace? Meteorology? Spin recovery? I hope when you crash, you don’t take anyone else out with you. I fly commercially for an airline and people like you appearing in front of my windshield at a closing speed of 300 knots is my worst nightmare. Please don’t think that just because you got away with it, you are a good pilot. There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots.
We did the same thing with an old eagle XL. We were fortunate enough to have a 3000 ft long paved runway to do it on but it was surrounded by upper suburbia. Interesting days for sure.
I’m a Certified Flight Instructor, and that honestly went about as well as I would have expected. You took off well, flew well, but anyone can do that without killing themselves(maybe not fly it precisely, but definitely avoid hitting the ground). Its the landing that requires a lot of training. He got super lucky on that landing. You could see he rolled off the runway from the sideloading, and was at such a high AOA that he nearly killed himself. You made it on the ground without a scratch which is lucky, but holy shit you came close.
Luck is right. Typically the impulsive human reaction to correct in an airplane or even on a motorcycle is bass ackwards. A few crow hops would be advisable, to get the feel.
