shouldn't have been worried Jamie, the in the room sound is killer 🙌, i think it's almost more fitting as it gives a better vibe of what's going on in the room i just ordered the DJI pocket 3 otherwise, the quality looks ridiculous and Jared's awesome, he supported Mr Big earlier this year, had a great hang with him as well
Cheers Paul. Yeah man it really worked I think. It actually felt less clinical and more real. You’ll love the DJI, all the sound and footage I did at Summit is awesome. And yeah Jared is a dude, we had good hangs over the weekend 🎸🎸
loved that intro trak.. i went back and listened again... wincy bit whitesnakey perhaps..? also a bit of a slash feel when he was in that velvet revolver perhaps..? but very good its not often i go back for more.. i think one of these will be my next guitar.. im really a lifetime amateur playing budget medium price guitars im happy with that, learning you tube riffs etc... but one of these will sit nicely beside my armchair for those moments of ROCK we all enjoy.... nice one
What a slamming track, Jamie! As a Helix user, I can say it sounds like they’ve done an amazing job of capturing some of its magic in this new unit. Looking forward to your videos from Guitar Summit.
killer tones here Jamie, this is on my shortlist as well actually for a portable practice rig and also a really good backup , the USB/camera tones integration is awesome
@@danielsauriol if you watched the video you’d see it was in fact a bit of fun based on the fact that I myself had transcribed it wrong for a Thin Lizzy book I wrote 20 years ago. But no worries, block away.
I knew this song was subtle. But not THAT subtle. Thanks for a fantastic breakdown. Also, it reminded me of trying to play this in a party covers band once. And the drummer just being totally unable to get the swing, which made it sound horribly lumbering and pedestrian.
Jamie as always, your performance was fantastic!! I learned this song when I was about 13 in around '95, and of course it turns out I'd been playing it wrong haha. I was playing the main riff at the second fret with open G string and D notes. My teacher would learn songs by ear and teach them to me, unfortunately half the lesson was him figuring it out. Great song choice great Lesson!!
Thank you it’s a very old tune which was on my first album which kind of went under the radar. I plan to remix re record the rhythm guitars and bass, as I have some new tunes I would love to release
Fantastic lesson as always, Jamie! This is a great song. My band used to do this song many many years ago. It would’ve been great to have had your lesson available back when I was trying to learn it. Thanks to this, I can finally, learn some of those trickier parts in the proper way. Thanks again.
Been thinking about the amped 2 or amped 3 , but watching your videos with Queen Jamie think I’m going with amped 2 , I’m using line 6 pod go at moment but it doesn’t seem to cut through on solos … we’re a duo using pro backing tracks small gigs but we enjoy them ,I use to use valve amps dark terror & th30 orange in bands ,but gone down the road off using guitar modelling stuff in mixer and headrush floor amp for duo .. thanks for the review Jamie
I love it, I use it on all my gigs right now. The modelling is great, but the real amp operation as well as the onboard power amp are a game changer for me
You're a killwr player yourself. Ive got one coming in the mail. I havent bonded with an overdrive yet. This should scratch the itch and im stoked about the gate. Omg youve got me salivating, this pedal is killer.
Are these presets or algorithms ones that are already in the H90 or did you create them? If you created them, is there a site where I can get them? These sounds have 100% sold me on getting one! Great sound, Great guitar playing!!!! Thanks and rock on!!!
Hi Leonard. Some of them were the presets that where on the unit, which I edited for the performance and some of them where presets I made from the ground up. I didn’t think to offer them as a download, sorry!! I’m planning to do more with the H90. Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it.. it’s a super inspiring piece of kit!!
@@SixStringAlliance Cool Thanks! Im subscribed and hope to see more H90 candy soon? Ballad Lead is TO DIE FOR! Please think about and consider putting a pack together as I would pay for it in a heart beat! You are very gifted with creating sounds that are literally top level! Love it! Thanks so much!!
@@martinpiper-ku3vi I know only too well!! I have 5 Van Halen DVD’s released with Lick Library which were very challenging, plus I’ve done quite a bit on EVH here on my channel
Thank you very much!! I wrong this tune in 1998, I still have the original 4 track demo!!! I’ve just reimported the origami drum parts and all the guitars into my studio setup, it was all backed up on old equipment. I’m planning to re record the bass and the rhythm guitars and give it a make over. I have a lot of new tunes I want to release but also re release my older ones.
Also it is very interesting that you mention Mooer red truck..i was about to order it yesterday , but than again thought why not to get a fully powered all in one solution as amped2..which brought me to the rabbit hole if HK Black Spirit is a better option, being analog in amp drive sections...end here i am..looking forward to hear from you
Great in depth demo.. Was intrigued in this unit since its availability... But was a bit dissapointed when learned that it relies on digital amp models.. Coming from amp brand i expected more.. Do you still have it.. Are there any long term impressions? Hughes Kettner Black Spirit floor might be well worth the extra pricing.. Any experience with thhat.?
Yes I use Amp 2 for all my gigs. I’ve been playing some very big summer festivals and it’s all I’ve used, no additional effects. I use a 1x12 Mesa cab mic’d blended with the Cab Rig out put and it sound incredible. The modeling is very good as are the power staged modeling. Has an amp feel with a,p style controls. I’ve not had any experience with HK gear, but I highly recommend Amped 2.
