Because tonari has said and been accused of doing something to that child aka boruto that made urishiki seal him. My new jogan theory is tonari did something to hinata so her first child would be implanted with shibi cells or something similar to cause boruto to evolve. (He could have also done it while boruto was in the womb We now know Koji had these cells implanted but didn’t get his ability until he was on the brink of death after fighting jegan. So my guess is a trigger is near death circumstances which is why it’s only in the most critical and desperate circumstances we have ever seen the jogan emerge Why it isn’t always active is maybe it needs time to develop or more circumstances need to be achieved for it to truly manifest. Also maybe genetics play a role in what ability can emerge. I think it’s hard to justify that the fifth Shinju is anybody but Shinki- Koji said he was at Orochimaru’s hideout located near the land of wind where the Sand village is located so it’s likely that a claw grime ran to the land of wind, encountered Shinki and devoured him

I think it’s still gonna be the shinki shinju. The future visions he was seeing at the time were all things that happened(Isshiki dying, code and the claw grimes, omnipotence being cast). Not to mention, I don’t think there’s gonna be a design for a shinki shinju that only is used one time.

the panel with the 5 shinju could display naruto and not shinki as this could be a reality where Naruto is captured and turned into a shinju as opposed to still being sealed, etc. I mean it does look like Naruto a bit lol. its weird we are getting suspense for the new thorn soul bulb when "seeing" the fifth one already... that 5th shinju could be a "shinju that never was" lol
true true, i think its a misdirection from Kishimoto. Whether its Naruto or Shinki from that reality, it could be a different shinju that we dont know about since Koji mentioned that the current timeline has already changed
a lot of people I’ve seen keep thinking it’s multiversal but it’s only countless possibilities. at a certain point those other possibilities are no longer possible due to certain actions that shinjutsu is OP asf

It both a multiverse and countless possibilities. Kashin Koji directly calls them future realities which means they actually physically exist. But in relevance to the main timeline they are only examples of what could happen.
I know I'm 11 months late to this lol. But I've always enjoyed Boruto. I relate a lot of this to our times right now we live in. The younger generations have it easy, but I do relate Naruto working a lot to the current cultural in the work force, how us adults are constantly working, and how parents are what seems to be rarely home. Which is sad, but that's the sad state of affairs of the world. Boruto's a decent character, and I'm happy to not see another suffering main character, but of one who has is easy, and attempts to find themselves through the Shinobi ways.
