Interesting. I was thinking of the nudging I get when I have people call at the door enticing me to sign up to donate on a monthly basis to some charity. Or even to sign up with a new telco or power supplier. The salesperson says "All your neighbours have signed up". Yeah right. That's downright dishonest. I should just say, "Phew! You don't need me then. I don’t have to feel guilty saying no." The nudging at the kingdom hall most often took the form of guilt tripping, but sometimes it appealed to ego and a desire for prominence .
I’m about 20 minutes in & I get where you’re coming from on this. I am a regular blood donator every few months. it’s hard to know that OK I’m putting my trust in something that I have no control over. I’m listening this while. I’m walking my dogs in the woods near my home. It’s a good thing because no one‘s around because I have tears coming down my face. My mother could also turn it off when she was in public and was on lithium for a long time until they put her on something different but She definitely was manipulative all her life. And also abusive, although it was mostly verbal and mental abuse.
I guess I’m OK with not having all the answers. It’s not that it doesn’t bug me sometimes but I think it is good to have a little bit of mystery in life. I also agree with you Celine that even though it would be nice to think that my loved ones are out there somewhere that have passed on I just don’t feel that.💁🏻♀️

Shunning is unbiblical. I know Heather. I was in the same congregation as her. What she probably doesn't know, is shunning, which separates fathers from sons and vice versa (or parents from children and vice versa), is described at Malachi 4:5,6. There you can read about a final prophet sent to God's people who will end this vile Babylonian practice that destroys families and brings reproach on God. (Mal 2:1-4; Matt 17:11) The consequences for all of Jehovah's Witnesses if that prophet fails are described in verse 6. This genuine prophet of Jehovah has multiple Quora Spaces dealing with the false teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, including shunning. If Russell returned to 2024 I believe he would become an atheist or agnostic. Today I do not know any JW who believes in this double superimposed generation taught by the Watchtower since 2008. Worse, the JWs are ashamed of this teaching and do not dare to teach it to others. Who would dare to teach this teaching as wholesome food from God? The JW are so dependent on the Watchtower that they are ready to follow it in all its ramblings to the point of distorting the words of Jesus to artificially lengthen the generation of 1914 which no longer exists. The more time passes, the more delusional the aging doctrines of this “church” will become.
I think you’re right about that however, I feel like they find a way to bend it in their favor. (Meaning the leadership, of course). Although I’m sure there are some people who then wake up & leave. But I don’t think it’s enough. Time will definitely tell.💁🏻♀️
They've given up with the door knocking , cart witness. The members know that it doesn't work. Any video I've seen of Cart witness conversations with the public have been so pathetic that the Witnesses at the cart look like fools who dont know their own doctrines or anything about the bible. Same with door knockers who like you say just have the most cringy talks that no one is interested in listening to while standing with their front door open with some wierdo talking utter garbage to them.

I love Nonna Rosa! When I was 8 there was an Italian lady in our neighborhood who didn't speak any English. She loved children. I remember many a time where I would wrap my arms around her ample waist and hug her. We children all loved her. Nonna Rosa is that type of lady. I hope there's more videos about her. I don't speak Italian so I put the translator on which makes it easy to know what's being asked and what her answers are. Is she still alive? This video was 3 years ago.
Yes, she’s still alive and kicking and still cooking us all Christmas Eve dinner and cooks for the family still whenever we go over. She hasn’t lost any of her spark! She’s turning 88 year olds on January 1st!
We traditionally enjoy short ribs for Christmas, with polenta. I love polenta as it just involves stirring, but I must say your mashed potato base looks quite inviting!

This is really interesting. Have you considered that #3 might be related to #2 in terms of humans evolving into the social creatures that we are? I'm thinking about how organizing into tribes is a tradeoff--one gets the benefits of being part of a group, but in the process surrenders a degree of autonomy to the chief or whatever leader of the group. So a sort of prehistoric cognitive dissonance may be alleviated along the lines of, 'well I need to follow this guy's lead to be in this group, so I might as well believe that everything this guy says is right...' Just a thought.

It'll be interesting to see the outcome of that stupid decision on the part of the governing body. When I was in the "Org", our recommendation to appoint and elder or ministerial servant was first determined by their share in the field ministry. Were they above average in their time spent there? Typically, above 10 hours a month. How will they know if a brother is "setting an example" of zeal for the ministry if they don't know how many hours he spent????!! I can foresee alot of cheating and lying going on by the rank and file publisher in the coming year! "Oh sure! I'm a regular publisher, brother elder!" Yet, pioneers still have to report the number of hours they spend??? (50 a month I think, is their requirement). So those who are supposed to be "examples", like pioneers; have to actually record the number of hours they spend??? How is that fair? My wife is a JW pioneer, but I can tell you for sure she doesn't spend 12.5 hours a week in the ministry!!! What a crock of baloney!
