The actress did an excellent job. I think in all the dramas I have watched, Wei Yanwan is one of the most evil villains. Killing innocent children. I used to feel sorry for her when she was getting bullied by Jia, but now I think she deserved worse.
It’s a TINY bit Ruyis fault, but not for the reason Arou thinks: As her master, Ruyi should’ve disciplined Aruo MUCH MORE, so she NEVER would have said anything like this! She should’ve made her kneel when she stole Suoxins dress! But Ruyi has kept treating her the same as before she moved to the palace, letting her speak out of turn because they’ve known each other so long. She lets her act closer to a young sibling that helps out, rather than as a servant in the Forbidden City. Arou had been spoiled by Ruyi for years, and didn’t have the common sense to see it as a sort of special treatment: she was just like “well I’m me so of course I get these bent rules!” That’s why she expects consort Xian to bail her out, and is SHOCKED when she doesn’t. In the more than ten years she’s served here, she’s never once been punished for her mouth. To her, Ruyi just “suddenly betrayed her.” The idea that Ruyi tried but ran out of “Get Arou of it of jail free” cards never even crossed her mind. And I bet anything even if she HAD escaped punishment, she’d start shit talking NC Gao the MOMENT she was out of earshot, instead of being grateful to Ruyi
Excellent performers, each one perfecting their character, I love this series, I cried, such a tragic love story. The interaction of life between those who rule and those who serve seems so familiar no matter what dynasty or decade we live in now. I must admit, this is the very best drama, stirring all the emotions!
Delusional girl. Aruo didn't know she had it good until it was gone. Even if her father was favored, it doesn't mean Aruo's ranking has changed in the palace. Mocking her fellow workers wouldn't have helped her either and made no sense with her current status as a servant. Not mention if she did join the harem (eventually she did), those who were hurt by her will remember her with resentment and won't treat her well if she fell out of favor. She fought the Empress and Noble Consort Hui alongside Ruyi, did she really believe they would become her allies? Aruo received her retribution in the end, Lianxin's words came true after all.
Aruo is a typical example of self-centered personality. However She wouldn’t dare to have ambitions due to her background. But starting to look forward getting she think she deserved when her father moving up at work. Such as the support from Ruyi, people should look up to her, and Emperor’s favorite.
So Aruo couldnt keep her jealousy to herself, punished by Imperial Consort but then agrees to betray Ruyi because its ruyi fault imperial consort punished her?
