The colony crisis faction raids are godsend. Back then i had to go to war with them to get infinite supply of their ships. Now they come to me. I can salvage everything bc my colony is like 10 meters away. Free money. I just have 3 separate fleets in storage to counter every style of fleet they throw at me. Big stupid low tier fleets? 2 words. Plasma Cannon. Big stupid low tech frigate junk? 2 different words. Tachyon Lance. I have a safety override lp eradicator with nothing but reapers and thumpers that i solely deploy to solo an invictus. Park behind it, launch every torp to strip armor, press F, gone. Against high tech i tend to just deploy my omega odyssey. Watch the femboys cry when i drop 6k kinetic dps on them. Midline is the hardest one tbh bc the constant and annoying missile spam. How do you counter spam? Wasp drones. Ungodly amount of wasp drones. They have pd, no crew so they can freely blow up. If you have more than 10 fps you dont have enough wasps. I either go with full legions if i happen to have enough, or just a random junk cruiser fleet with the makeshift hangars. Every fighter slot gets 6 wasps and they barely cost any points. Defensive targeting hullmod if i want to be extra annoying. And if poo hits the fan you can always hide behind your station. Just avoid midline stations, they blow. The other options are about the same. But high tech needs good weapon blueprints. Low tech doesnt care if your only large ballistic is the hellbore. It has insane firepower, only low tech big boys and high tech can reliably survive. But high tech ships with ai fits usually lack the range and the anti armor firepower to deal with the station. So unless the ai parks 600 auroras ontop or 10 onslaughts you are more than fine. And thankfully station ai likes to focus fire so the enemy cant really retreat out of its insane range. But the high tech station once you have tachyon lance, plasma and that burst emp medium i always forget how its called coupled with an alpha core, it becomes a league of its own. I saw that thing solo entire double and triple stack of smodded invasion fleets. Deploying anything smaller than a cruiser is a suicide against the tachyon spam, while the big guys enjoy some plasma for breakfast. And it has insane shielding, so its not so prone to be worn down in constant suicide yolo
@@jandaldrichtabada216 so it is not possiblle because of lack at least deployment time. If it was something like 1000 seconds like paragons it can have a try. Also there was just one aurora, other ships are fury.
Initially I thought this is AFK showcase of pure AI controlled fleet. But yeah when flagship is player controlled this looks exactly like on SS's video :D Also my setup with lvl7 officers + some additional Omega guns does not seem to be a problem - however the flux efficiency is crucial for AI controlled vessels exactly like you wrote.
The thing is that under vanilla conditions you most likely won't get that many disruptors, so let it be so as you see. I tried it with mods, well, it’s not clear, it seemed better to me this way. AI don't use it very well. my builds are heavily tailored to it's behavior.
Hi - I've just tried exactly the same setup (even better because with 2 lvl7 officers). Tried it against 1 strong Ordo --> what happened is that the Paragons kept blocking each other's line of fire and thus started to die.. Are you using any kind of AI enhancing mods??? Because my results were drastically different than yours... I wonder why
No mods. Regular AI. To give advice on why something is wrong with you, post a video. Otherwise, you’re probably just not positioning it correctly on the flagship.
@@SSfiless Ok - the trick was to set the flagship to seek&destroy order - furthermore your exact smod setting helps (even the miniscule smod bonus from stabilised shields) - not to mention the Advanced Turret Gyros Smod bonus --> currently practically a must in every capital build - it will be nerfed soon probably.
@@xarlez6185 oh, and in my opinion, only the player controls the flagship. What about turret gyros, i think it is possible that it'll be nerfed, it is so good with, as i say, "free damage", without increasing flux.
Did you control the flagship? Since his personal and NPC builds are drastically different, player can properly manage flux, but such build will be bad for NPCs, since SS AI have issues, and one of them that they often refuse to vent and like sitting overfluxed, and also player's micro control does most of the works in battle too. In versions where Phase Ships wasn't nerfed to the ground they was ideal for micro control, but sadly author of the game ruined them with that speed nerf. Also btw there is reason why rest of his Paragons use AutoPulse lasers and such, no omega guns etc, these are NPC specific build, they made flux efficient, so Paragons can tank properly. Also these antimatter SRMs, they are flux hungry too, so you might make your NPC build worse with them, sometimes it better to put weaker, but efficient guns, or leave some mounts empty, such as Paragon's small missiles and use OP points on extra hullmods or vents.
this type of defeat should have consequences on the faction, it certainly has on players. who knows, as things get more desperate they may start playing dirtier and dirtier, maybe until there isn't that much difference between how the pathers fight and how try-tachion fights.
@@SSfiless well, he game is trying to simulate a live sector, its not about simulating the cost of each ship for a giga complex system, it could be simplified in many ways to fit the game.
@@yyeetmax2849 By simplifying you are unlikely to get the desired result. I can't even use any game as an example. X4 maybe, but also with some edits, the bots there are just as stupid, so it’s suitable as a comparison.
Not sure it is what to do to make mercenaries since you can drop 1 red and put officer management, recruit your guy, put your officers you want to turn mercenaries on the bottom of the list and remove officer management. You will save a lot of story points.
I normally run a wolfpack tactics style build, and when I got the Persean League blockade notification my first thought was "ah what can it be, 2 fleets?". Then I got the 22 fleets notification and thought "ah they're probably mainly fast pickets". Then I camped the ring system around Kazeron to engage far forward, only to see an S-modded fleet and like 10 fleets I stood no chance against even without support. It was a lengthy guerrilla war. Also I learned Persean League fighter & Gazer spam is like the ultimate frigate build counter.
fighters beat frigates, ultimately that's their greatest use and is THE reason to field them they can deal good damage to battleships too, but in their case they have more effective PD systems which can cripple fighter formations
I find the monitors to a be a bit cheesy. Even when the Ai uses them. its kinda silly that such a small ship can have such a powerful shield. Its basically only used to tank damage which is a bit immersion breaking imo. I wish they would balance them a bit and give them more of a purpose than just a tank.
One thing you can abuse when facing single enemy is to set the monitors to attack comman. They completely confuse the enemy and you can get close for dps.
Knights Of Ludd. But those bots going with some other mod ships. One ship was from Tahlan, a bit of some mod remnants, derelicts. It is difficult to speak which mod, main mod for those bots, system and strongest ships there is KOL.
This configuration is great when picking off isolated ships from the main group that's supposed to be handled by the rest of your fleet. Go in, delete, and bugger to conserve operation time or join up with the fast flankers to break up the groups. It does require combat skills that may come at the expense of the other fleet skills, however.
So what are rhe best officer skills for onslaughts? You showed a week before this officers that have systems expertize instead of the target dmg bonus?
Persean Fleet Doctrine: Midline is bestline! I love defeating in Detail and using EMP and stand off DEM weapons to cripple the enemy before leveraging my superior mobility to outflank and out range my opponent! Hegemony Fleet Doctrine: Strap as much armour onto the ship, forget the shields just fire all guns all at once constantly oouuuhhhggggg
HI, do you have any tips for a new player regarding early/mid game fleets? I'm really clueless on what ships to get and what to fit them with, there's a lot of examples of end game fleets but I'm having a hard time finding early/mid game ones, the more I read on weapons / stats the more confused I get
In fact, it can take a very long time to explain in different ways. I will describe one of the methods. First, you can earn some money by scanning probes and stations using one small tanker. However, this stage can be skipped; what is it like to repeat the drawn-out beginning? Choose a start with an Apogee, collect some of the abandoned ships near Tetra (they are there at any start), a planet in the Galatia system. Now the point is: use a suitable cruiser with safety overrides, a few examples: Apogee, Eradicator (not pirate version), Falcon (same, not pirate version), Eagle, Champion, Aurora, Fury, (last two are best because of are fastest). Take a commission from the faction from which you want to buy a ship, for example a Tri-Tachyon. Take a look for system bounties to hunt pirates, at first steps the fleets will be small, so a cruiser with SO will easily strangle them. Thus, after a couple of hours, player gets the opportunity to buy Paragon at the military market from Tri-Tachyon. That's all in principle. Regarding weapons: a cruiser SO requires a relatively large amount of kinetics to penetrate shields, and at least one gun that penetrates armor well Assault chaingun if ballisctic or a Heavy blaster if energy. If a ship with only ballistic slots crams Machine guns, Heavy Machine gun as well, If a ship with only energy slots crams more pulse lasers, both small and medium, they heat up the shield cheaply, a Heavy blaster or Assault chaingun quickly penetrates armor and causes high damage to the hull (i speak about thore weapons just as weapons for SO cruiser here). All the other ships that are there initially or you collected are used simply to distract opponents, they have no purpose to kill, just to distract, it is advisable not to die while you are quickly hunting usinf SO cruiser.
