this will be my next wide format printer, I just happened to get lucky and got a pixma pro 100 for less than 100 dollars. I have been using it for years but they all break down eventually.
so I just get the emulsion from the bucket and flood the screen w a squidgee (idk how to spell it haha) and then put it in a dark room and thats it? Awesome! How long do I need to wait for it to set? Im assuming I will have to wait till the next day to use it right?
water based is always better .. plastisol is not even considered ink (to me) and it makes so much mess and does not last that long.. water based is much easier to work with and lasts for as long as the fabric lasts. (thats my opiniion)
This is a great hack, but couldn't you get 2 cures out of every sheet by just flipping it over? Put a 2nd sheet between the used side and the top platen that you reuse over and over to keep any glue from getting on the top platen.

"a real dtf set up"... bruh, this whole industry is pretty new, it's trial and error, and slapping together what works. Even those 3-5k printers that you probably consider "real dtf" are just Epson innards under the casing. Epson doesn't source their heads to these companies. Literally for ever "real dtf" printer out there, there is a carcass of an Epson printer in some landfill.
So, you print the image, put the powder on, let sit for abt 20 minutes, put under heat press, use unwaxed parchment paper for 5 seconds and slow peel the parchment paper and then press on shirt correct??? Cause if that is how simple it is I will be doing this! My little oven is not big enough and I cannot get the actual DTF oven yet. Please let me know if I have this correct :)
( Awesome idea )but I have to say what a waste 😢 just more garbage that can't be recycled, and it may be cheaper but for a short time it will ad up to be more expensive than a Oven in the long term
Dude if you have to let it sit for 20 minutes you might as well allow your heat press to cure for 2 to 3 minutes then. Just put it closer to the transfer paper.
because they all cure differently, some are 2 step where you have to mix, some are extremely sensitive to UV, the ulano orange is the best that ive used
