I got an old 50 hp Mercury thats leaking water from top of the pick up tube. Pick up tube is snug and will not come out. Anybody know how to fix that.? Do you have to removes upper housing to get to it?
I just had one break on me today, the bellow was cracked and leaking oil and the whole top half can rotate separately from the bottom half. I haven’t opened it up yet but does anyone know what happened?
The lift bar goes over the top middle of the cover. You flip one side over it, then use the lift bar to raise the rest off the hot tub. I would imagine that’s why your cover is absorbing water as it drags across the water level. At least the bullfrog spa I had operated the way I explained. Never had any issues
I got a dumb question, what's the 2nd wire going to the starter? It was sparking when contacting metal and I don't know where it goes. Mine won't even turn over
If its sparking when hitting metal..it's a hot positive charged wire. The metal frame and motor is grounded to negative terminal on battery...so anything metal on unit most likely grounded negative. When you touch that wire or a hot positive wire to the grounded motor or frame, etc...it sparks. One small thin wire goes to key switch...that engages the solenoid. The larger wire will be your positive charged wire used to start the starter with max amps it needs.
Most times it's from the stitching or zipper areas, letting water inside cover.. It also could be steam condensing from the hot water itself and getting absorbed into the foam, inside cover. You can try to waterproof the outside of cover and see if that keeps rain, snow water out. Other option is to replace the cover. Keith 2guys how2
Just a tip. When you had the coupler on the first time, just leave it on and use the holes in the coupler to help hold the bit in place. As long as you are putting oil on the hole being drilled, you don't have to go that slow. I work with steel for a living, that thin of a wall, you don't need to go that slow. Just keep putting oil on while drilling. Great video.
My unit will work fine, both sides set to ICE, but then on its own, one side will just change to CHILL and we have to manually set it back to ICE. 10 mins later it switches back to CHILL. Do you think that's a control board issue or a celenoid issue?
hey my ourboard has an oring on the water pickup tube. is this to go before the bevel and land in the water seal on the impellers water seal (the flared part) it seems to have a groove inside but wondering if thats for the flare on the copper tube
Where were you able to pick up that spacer for the smaller solenoid? I work for Pepsi and I order a new solenoid, came without the tab and is smaller than the original part. Thanks for the video, I learned a lot. Appreciate you sharing the video!
Thanks, for watching...glad to help. We just bent the bracket a little to fit the new solenoid. Just bend it lightly and it should hold the new solenoid in place just fine. Hope that helps. Fix it yourself and save that money! Keith 2guys how2
Make sure your fobs battery is good and it has no alarm, safety or security lock, that won't let it the unit start. Those have a starter safety switch, most likely when you pull the brake lever in before starting. I would check your battery connections and your fuse, if the starter won't turn the motor over at all. If the motor turns over, but, won't start...the fuel line shut off valve needs to be open... if it has one..the gas needs to be fresh, not old. Check spark plug and replace if needed. You can always put a little gas where spark plug goes in engine..clean plug, install plug and try to start. If it starts then it's a fuel issue. If it doesn't start, most likely it's weak or no spark issue. Keith 2guys how2
Hi this is Laura I bought a 2012 jonwa scooter and I need to know a few things .I bought a brand new battery.And it ran and it has a fob.And when I shut it off it won't start back on.I watched your video on cleaning Tha carburetor. It looks dirty .Some of the wiring look like they've never been changed.What do you know I should do.I also called around az tucson and some shops don't fix them do you hve someone I could call.I hve a friend that could help me just by watching you tube video.
The gage should move at start up. I would check the connection to temp sensor. Cheaper sensors might not work..they don't have the same quality and resistance. Some new senso8can be faulty as well. Use dielectric grease on your plug connection. Keith 2guys how2
Excellent detailed video.Thank you so much .I just finished mine today.When it came time to put the impeller in I used a tie wrap or zip tie.I got it halfway in then cut the tie.Worked like a champ.I also changed the gear oil.Thanks again!
Hey guys... thanks for the effort here. I have a 45hp that I have to do the same thing to. Not looking forward to replacing the inlet housing way up in the engine. They don't make them any more so I had to pay $45 to get an aftermarket... robbery! NLA Marine sells them. Anyway, thanks again for your work; you guys are a great team.

Great video guys. I just bought the same motor and I'm having an issue with the overheat alarm. The alarm starts going off as soon as I turn the key. This started on my last test ride. Do you know if this motor has a thermostat? If it does, I cant find it? Appreciate the video about the impeller.
Yeah, the covers only last for so long. When they are too heavy, you will not like using the hot tub as much. Invest I a good cover and worry about it 10 years from mow. Keith 2guys how2
