Thanks! There isn't enough room for the threaded base and nuts on the Pro 4000, so it has to be like this. You don't get the same fine adjustment, but frankly, it is not needed. Especially since the Pro 4000 can't take as long cases as the Six Pack Pro. I did try this style on the Six Pack early on, but was worried you would end up with not finding the right adjustment for some obscure cartridge I hadn't thought of. It's quicker to adjust up and down, but also introduces a tiny bit of movement between the base and the body.

Hi! I made this video instead of a written manual because it gets very technical with just the text. I do however have the script from the video and will try to paste it below. If you want it as a text file, you can email me at: grimnir.innovations@gmail.com Adjust to a new caliber The height of the dropper depends on what type of cartridge you are feeding. Most pistol cases are dropped below the dropper. Most bottleneck rifle cartridges are dropped with the case neck still inside the dropper. The goal is to drop the cases as close to the top of stroke as possible. If a case is dropped below the lever, before reaching the top of stroke, it must not be allowed to reach the lever again, or re-enter the dropper hole. If the case shifts, it can impact the lever and damage the dropper assembly. However, if a case is dropped while the top of the case is still above the lever, it will simply slide back up the feeding hole. It is also important not to short stroke the press, as this might cause a case to impact the dropper body. The case dropper is mainly adjustable in two ways. The dropper itself moves up and down to fit the case length. The ratchet-style trigger bar is then adjusted to trigger the dropping. If you are using the trigger bar with a spring loaded lock, you can adjust it down in click increments by pushing it. To adjust it up, press and hold the trigger lock, and move the trigger bar. The teeth on the trigger bar are 4mm apart, but the two sides are offset by 2mm. If you can’t quite find the sweet spot with one side, the other side will provide a step in between. If you're not using the spring loaded lock, you may instead use a short M6 screw to lock the trigger bar in the exact spot you like. This is meant as an alternative to the spring loaded lock, and might not be viable in the long run. 3d printed threads do not always come out perfect, and there might not be enough material to reliably use a metal screw indefinitely. If you want to use this method, insert the trigger bar from the bottom with one of the smooth surfaces facing the screw. Only tighten the screw, enough to hold the trigger bar in place. Overtightening may damage the trigger bar and the threads. To avoid binding and wear; Always make sure that the trigger is oriented so that the rounded area of the trigger rides on the case slider. Adjust to a pistol case. Start by retracting the trigger bar to the top position to disable it. Raise the ram and place a pistol case on the case feeder ramp. Adjust the height of the dropper to where you want it to drop. For most pistol cases this will be when the case is just below the dropper lever. Put the case inside the dropper, center it over the case feeder ramp, and loosely tighten the nuts. Adjust the trigger down, until the drop is activated. Place one or more cases inside the dropper and test your setting. Adjust if necessary. Remember that the opposite side of the trigger bar offers a half step adjustment. Before finally tightening the nuts, please note that the dropper can also be adjusted slightly in or out to compensate for different case diameters. Adjust to a bottleneck rifle case. Start by retracting the trigger bar to the top position to disable it. Raise the ram, and place a bottleneck case on the case feeder ramp, with the dropper behind it. Adjust the height of the dropper to where you want it to drop. For most rifle cases this will be with the neck inside the dropper. Put the case inside the dropper, and center it over the case feeder ramp. To minimize the required stick-out of the trigger, the raiser for the case-slider should be used when reloading longer cases. When using the riser, always make sure that the trigger does not come in contact with anything on top of the dropper. Adjust the trigger down, until the drop is activated. Lower the ram, and make sure that the case clears the dropper. If the case is stuck in the dropper when you lower the ram, you can activate the drop earlier by adjusting the trigger. If the top of the case exits the dropper, make sure it does not re-enter or touch the dropper, later in the stroke. Alternatively, you can raise the height of the dropper, and then readjust the trigger. Always make sure that the combination of dropper height, case slider height and trigger stick out is within a safe range. Operating the press with wrong settings can damage the dropper or the press.

This gizmo is top notch. With the lee case feeder I got double feeds or it would kick the case out sideways especially when down to the last two cases and was a real headache with tall cases like 38/357 and 44mag. I ran 500 rounds of 40 last night and didn’t have a single issue. I’ve ran prob 100 38 cases just to test it and not a single issue. If you spend 15 min getting everything fine tuned with this case feeder and tge lee bullet feeder 400rds and hour is no problem and that’s taking my time slow and steady. Add in the DAA powder check die and the primer sentry alarm I got on eBay the this press is awesome.

Will this case feeder work with 460 S&W magnum cases?
@Grimnir3D
@Grimnir3D 8 месяцев назад
It looks like the .460 S&W Magnum case has a max diameter of 13.12mm and the dropper serves up to 13.6mm, so that should work. However, I can not guarantee that the cases will fit in the clear tubes that come with the press. I don't have an exact case to test that, but I can tell you it's very close. If the cases do not fit in the clear tubes, the remaining option is to use the case dropper with the case feeder adapter and feed it that way from an electric case feeder.

@Grimnir3D
@Grimnir3D 9 месяцев назад
I think the biggest problem is cases tumbling (and falling off the feed ramp) when they are dropped. This dropper will "hold on" to the case until you start lowering the ram. If you want to switch between small and large diameter cases on the Lee case feeder, you have to take the whole thing apart, flip it around, and add or remove the tab that covers the large feed hole. Then assemble it again and adjust for the cartridge length using tools to tighten it. With this dropper, you only have to adjust for cartridge length and set the trigger that activates the drop. Both are very easy to do and require no tools. If you're using a case feeder, you have to decide where to put the sensor that starts and stops the motor. I didn't like the idea of having it all the way down on the press, as that meant that the drop tube, sensor and wires had to move up and down with the ram. But if you put it higher up, your spring tube will be full of cases, and still be moving up and down with each stroke. With this dropper, you get a solid, stationary mounting point. You can even get away with using just a regular tube as it doesn't need to stretch anymore. You also benefit from reduced drag since there are no cases sliding on top of case slider, no aftermarket gate needed, and you don't have four clear tubes full of cases moving up and down with every stroke.
@RobinVerhulstZ
@RobinVerhulstZ 8 месяцев назад
in my experience the normal case feed system 100% will spill when there's 3 or less cases in a tube (at least with handgun brass), this would solve that issue

Would you also be making a version for the Lee APP? I would be interested in buying the files for that
@Grimnir3D
@Grimnir3D 9 месяцев назад
I won't rule it out, but it's not in my plans right now. The APP doesn't have the case ramp going up and down like the Six Pack Pro, so the mechanism would have to be redesigned quite a bit. The APP is also more complicated as people use it for more than just cases. I also currently don't own one , so it would be really hard to both design and test. And lastly, I know there are other aftermarket feeders out there that are made for the APP (though I have no experience with them).
@MrNgMichael
@MrNgMichael 9 месяцев назад
@@Grimnir3D Ohhh okay, I kept thinking the lever at the back was an over stop travel, but now I see that it's actually an actuation lever, and that it'll be a redesign of the case tilt stopper and the lever to make it work on the APP. My issues with the current APP case feed designs out there are that they're a continuous feed (like the original design for the six pack pro). I printed the one with the quick change caliber conversion, but it needs a case forward tilt stopper and also some of the heights of the caliber tubes are a little too tall, which causes cases to possibly slip out from above. Also if there's a jam with a .40 sneaking in, you need to remove the tubes to fix the jam, rather than just 2 easy opposing locking nuts.
