Got the same issue with Mazda CX9 2020, the dealer said that, this is normal in winter season because of some sensor. And its the opposite in summer. Went there 3 times, always saying its working perfectly normal. Is that normal i cant adjust my preferred temperature. I dont know what to do now.
It depends how important maintaining temperature is to you. This is a problem they cannot seem to fix. In our case they bought the car back and we bought a different brand which has performed very well.

Love the double headlights! Currently rebuilding a 2a that is a mix of two bound for scrap. A '64 and '70 and will be doing the same, with the wings from the '70 and the grill from the '64. Love the look. She even looks good in primary green!
Yes we did. This didn't fix the problem. Mazda were unable to fix the problem and bought the car back. They then sold it to somebody else for more than I payed for it. Last I saw, the purchaser had it for sale again. Wife is happily driving a Skoda Kodiaq.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the exact same issue on my cx-9. With a 25c outside temp, and the AC off, my rear vents were blowing at 40c. Clearly this is not normal. Did you get yours fixed? What was the issue?
Mazda bought the car back because they couldn't fix it. They then onsold it as a demonstrator a few months later. Last I saw the car was for sale again, this time on Gumtree, listed as a "one owner" vehicle. So I suppose the car was fixed for me, but not for everybody else.
Did they give you every penny you paid into the car? I am having same issues this will be the 2nd time Mazda trying to repair AC unit and other big issues like vehicle system malfunctions. I want to get out of this car asap its dangerous with engine power loss on the highway and having to pull over on top of the front of the car being hot. jonathan techaira Mazda Corporate offered every cent I had paid for the car, but the dealer stiffed me $300 for "Cleaning" and refused to refund me the extra registration I had paid, about $400. They cashed that in, changed the rego, and sold it to the other guy as "New". So Mazda looked after me but the dealer did not.
Good to know I hope they give me my money back and get out of the car its not safe. Dealerships always seem to have a huge difference in attitude then corporate. I'm glad you got out of the vehicle I am making sure I share my experience on every website involving Mazda as possible. I would not mind paying cleaning fee if I get all my money back. The question is multifaceted. First: Ambient air temperature. Second: The operating mode of the air conditioner. (You can not see the symbol of work in the AUTO mode). Third: The distribution of flows in the cabin. You measure at the chest level. Many manufacturers for cooling start cold air in the head area, but there are cars in which cold air goes to the feet. Fourth: For many cars, the indications on the air conditioning display are so-called parrots which have a relative relationship to temperature. (Buy a BMW 750 with four-zone climate control and you will have hair on your head. The set temperature at each passenger seat will not have anything in common with the set values on the control panel.)
Grant have you had any luck getting your CX-9 resolved? I bought a New CX-9 Azami last November, (I'm in Australia), and am having issues similar to the ones you are experiencing. Taken it back to the dealer on 3 occasions now, still not resolved. They said that they have replaced the whole controller on the last visit but if anything it appears worse. It's going back again on Monday.
Mazda replaced the front and rear control modules, but didn't fix the problem. They admitted they couldn't replace the car, as all of the CX-9's they checked behaved the same way. They refunded our money and took the car back.
Did you test the same in another vehicle. previous cx 9 model or latest Mazda 3 or 6??? just wondering if you can ever expect the numbers to be accurate.
We have 2 other vehicles with climate control and they both hold temperature within a couple of degrees. We borrowed a CX-5, and it behaved perfectly. The dealer tested 2 other CX-9's and they both showed unusual behaviour, but I did not test them personally, so I can't say more than that.
