Thank you! I was just learning and probably should have rehearsed the song a couple of times before hitting the record button. I’ll be adding some more Tedeschi Trucks playalongs in the near future.
@@lx7x7xl You did a very interesting job showing the alternation of the seven and minor seven chord. It was so practical. I also happen to have the same guitar so it was nice to see it on YT. Keep playing!
Hey! i’m sorry to bother you.. My father died two months ago and this was his and my mom’s wedding song, by any chance could you do a tutorial? I really want to learn how to play it for her! thanks xx
Really good voicings. I’ve been looking for a way to play this on guitar in my covers band…. One of the trickiest pieces I’ve ever had to learn (and we play Steely Dan songs). Can you share the tabs?
Thanks, Neil. I had struggled with it for years simply by not attempting to play it. 😂 I just sat and tried to make sense of it over a couple of hours time then winged it. Not sure if I was right and maybe overplayed it a bit. I suppose if I were covering it with a band I’d lay out and let the keys be dominant. It would be a tough one to cover for sure but you are already doing Steely Dan. I wish I could send you tabs but I didn’t learn it from tabs. PM me and perhaps we can video chat about the chords. facebook.com/share/EuAkzqbAtRAXgz1J/?mibextid=JRoKGi
I’ve had a horrible setup for making vids, just recording from my iPhone. I’ve just bought a MacBook Pro and yesterday downloaded some recording software. After a few years of learning I’ll post more video but of much better quality. Thanks for the feedback and support! Peace.
I used to request this song from my local oldies station and the DJ would always say, I think this is Chicago not the Doobies. Every now and then I can get them to play it, but it's like pulling teeth!
Thank you so much, Jane. Morning Fog lives in my mind permanently without paying rent. It's been my favorite KB song since it was released in 1985. Yes, John Williams plays the nylon guitar part. I love how it is understated and blurs the lines between folk and latin feel. Nuance galore. Unfortunately I didn't rehearse it much before I recorded it so I improvised the feel. Appreciate the kindness!
Thank you, Beau. Didn’t quite nail it but it’s so much fun to play this song of my youth. I was 17 when this came out and rocked my world. Thanks for your kind comment.
@@lx7x7xl My heart is really happy because your video, which I feel was made with sincerity, has a foreboding that positive energy will surely come to you in the future and will receive a lot of love soon. Your video is the best video. The moment I open your video, my heart suddenly becomes happy. In the future, please upload your wonderful talent that is full of unique charm in your videos. On my RU-vid window, I saw your video passing by a mysterious algorithm that I don't know. I liked it the most and I fell in love with your channel. When I watch your video, it feels like an ecstatic and pleasant wind brushes my cheeks as the sun goes down in the field and evening. I am lucky enough to have an algorithm like this in the universe. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. I came across your video by chance in a fantastic space where the world unfolded in front of RU-vid was so vast. When I watch your videos on RU-vid, somehow everything feels like a dream. Even if the RU-vid road is rough and the rain and wind blows and everything in this world moves away from me, I will always leave only your video in my memory. Your video shines the most on my RU-vid window right now.
@@DSKim-ej5uf Thank you for your kind, positive words and encouragement. Some day I will buy some recording gear to create better videos. The audio quality for all of my videos suffers so much because I'm only using an iPhone. My dream is have a room that is a studio setup with software for recording and editing. I may also offer lesson videos per song but I'm not certain yet. Most of my videos are improvised with little, and sometimes no, rehearsal of the songs. For every video I record, there are about 30-40 songs I had not recorded. Anyway, thanks so much for your kindness. Peace.
Tiiiiiiimeless, beautiful lyrics and a voice that l cannot get enough of. And his guitar playing brother is a show unto HIS self. Heartfilling treat, thank you with every beat.
Thanks Greg, I’ve been playing that one from time to time for a few years but don’t try to reproduce what’s going on and the nuance. Don’t have that kind of patience.
Thank you. I have a gift for knowing chords and memorizing things but cursed when trying to get things right perfectly. I also suffer from “just about right is ok by me” syndrome.
@@lx7x7xl my man!!! I’m self taught and trying to understand theory and just started working on my scales. I do until my pain sets in then I need a break for awhile. You keep rocking 💚I’m the big 50 in two months. I’m looking into a Yamaha apx2t or something like that lol it’s a small travel guitar that I’ll bring with me everywhere. Life goals lol
It's a Fractal FM3 amp/cab modeler. I was using the Fractal version of a Mesa/Boogie Mk IIc+ going through 4x12's. So, it's like a recording of a mic'd Boogie through 4x12's. I'm actually running the output of the Fractal into stereo Friedman ASM-12s. If you aren't familiar, the Friedmans are powered full range-flat response (FRFR) monitors. They really rip and are good stage monitors for a big venue and even good to fill a good room.
John, you are right. I’m thinking about posting instructions for all my performance/covers but it may take some time. I need to invest in computer recording software to do it right. If you need to know the chords please let me know. I’m not good with inversions so I’m only using standard chords.
Thank you, MP, I’m not sure what Martyn is playing but I’m having a great time trying to cobble it together. If you know, please drop a message. Also the sound effects if ya know.
@@lx7x7xl I know what you mean, I’ve been studying that vid from the Sterling Uni concert and trying to figure out his hand positions, not having too much success tho. You’re very close with your choice of effects.
I kinda fell on the partial sound by using the Fractal FM3. There’s not much to go on within the internet. Please let me know if you ever get to the bottom of this. One of my favorite song vibes ever. I’m a latecomer to Martyn. He was always on the radar but just off the scope while I was distracted by other music.
I met Dug at one of our Human Zoo practices at Francisco’s Studios rehearsal place. I didn’t know who he was until he left. Lol. Guess I had never seen a single King’s X video. No, I haven’t seen a Lab Series modeler on my Fractal. I saw that Ty used it for this song. Is it on Ax ?
@@lx7x7xl My first experience with lab series was in high school battle of the bands. The music store in Pasadena, can't remember the name "Parker Music"??? provided the backline. I was so nervous about using a different amp, It sounded great. The Lab series really should have been my next amp purchase but I bought a twin reverb then the Rolland JC120. I think I just forgot about it unfortunately. Met Dug at an Alarm concert when I walked outside to smoke a cig. I was the only one out there I turned around and he was looking at me. Kinda freaked a bit inside, I can get weird sometimes with celebrity kinda tongue tied, but he was such a cool dude. In hindsight he may have just come out to say hello or get some fresh air. I was playing with the Chamberlains a lot then. I probably had every KingsX CD up to that point. AX? I'm still using the antiquated Eleven Rack.
