I put in 50,000 on a secure card the credit union never offer me any incentives. Am about to pay that off this month. Capitol one and silver and they offer me 6,000 each with incentives. So Brandan you sayin if I pay my secure card off I have to wait 6 months for the bank to put that money back in my acct?
May want to let folks know self is not usually for people with a 620 credit and above to help improve credit. Also I must've misinterpreted what you meant because from the sounds of things you said at the beginning you went from 0-700 in a couple of months and then partoal way into the video you changed that to you already had over 600 and wanted to boost yourself up past 700. 0-700 I don't think is possible in any realm of reality as building credit takes time, over the course of years. And as for credit karma they are alright but don't give accurate updates or Information about your credit scores or what cards/loans you will likely be approved for. They lack quite a bit compared to others. Cool video just may want to fill your followers in on a few things. Self is good for those under 600 credit score usually, you won't see much push for 620 and above. The only helpful thing self offers other than having one extra credit account to build history with as proof for other lenders to see is they offer you a credit card option with a physical credit card you can obtain. However in order to get that you have to make 3-4 ontime monthly payments first and then choose the option to transfer the payments you've made I to a credit card they will send you. Then they will reset your contract deal with what you have been paying. Example is if I chose to do an 800.00 contract and pay 50.00 a month to them and I'm 300.00/800.00 and I choose the credit card option. I get a percentage of what I have paid in so far so if im at 300 they will most likely let you take 100- 150 of that and put it into the credit card ( which does work wonders for ppl under 600) and then my 800 would get reset to 100 to 150/800 . I would still be required to finish the contract and pay the 800 but I would have a credit card plus building credit history. And speaking from personal experience with self. They won't jump your score by much.25-50 points over your contract term and if you use the credit card right you'll get another 50 if your lucky. But once you hit 620 it has little to no effect and you have to move to somthing else. As for kredit karma- they do not give accurate updates and live information on your credit scores, who you owe and how likely you are to get approved for anything. The best way to find out this information is to get a credit inquiry from. All three, equifax-experian-and transunion and if any inaccurate things are on there dispute them and work with who you owe to pay down those debts
I don’t have any credit I’m 19 😢 I wanted to get the secured credit card so I could do what you did and get atleast to 650 quickly so that I could get a studio close to my school (and no I don’t have an available co-signer anyone I’m related to that can do that is a narcissist or abuser that I cut off) instead they gave me a regular credit card for 1000 with a 300 dollar spending limit I’m not sure if they’re going to give me a score but if they don’t then that means I’m stuck where I am for another year or two I literally called to see which card they sent and the woman on the phone was like oh you got a normal card congratulations 😭 she was so confused why I wasn’t happy she was like it’s a step up 🤣I obviously don’t care about that thx for the easy explanation though
I got the Capital One card and gave a 99 dollar deposit and they gave me a 200 dollar limit initially. I kept paying it off every month in full and in 6 months they raised my limit to 500 dollars. I kept paying it off every month and in another 6 months they raised it again to 1250 dollars. In that time my credit score went up over 100 points too. I highly recommend it!
Please help me I’m confused so I just got a discover it card with a $200 limit the due date is the 20th and the cycle closing date is the 25th. This is what I’ve got correct me if I’m wrong please I don’t understand. So For example. I spend $20 on the first of the month I should pay $18 before or on the 20th and let the two dollars stay on my balance until the 25th? And then pay it off after the 25th?
Dude thank you so much for explaining the utilization rate thing. I’ve been on RU-vid for five hours trying to find out best way to use my cards. And you explained it perfectly. Thank you thank you thank you
Hey, hope you can answer my question. Today, I applied for the Discover It card, I believe, it could have been a different kind of Discover card, but anyway, I received a credit line of $3,0000. When I get the card, do I have to deposit $3,000, or how does this all work. I only wanted to deposit $500 or $1,000 at the most. I'm pretty sure it is a secured credit card, the DIscover It. I just don't know why I received such a high credit line or if I need to deposit that much. Thanks!
Discover secured credit account is by far thee worst secured account you could ever open. They put you through a long strenuous verification process where they have to send you a equifax or trans union email for you to E-sign then you have to wait an additional 2 to 3 weeks for them to contact the IRS in order to verify your information. You'll have to wait for a thousand years before you can even use your card. Highly recommend chime or bank of america
"I reply to every. Single. Comment." THAT WAS A LIE. I applaud your balls to even say that, let alone CHALLENGE viewers. The problem is, you didn't follow through.
Thanks for the info. I just got my $200 secured discovery card which is my first ever credit card. And I signed up for SelfLending and Kickoff monthly payments! About $55 a month total, not bad, hope it helps.
I can't even get fking approved for a secured card. Guess I have to save up $30k + another $20k for my van AND the build, while somehow not kms in the process. Lovely. Silly me for thinking there may be a possibility to get to this life any sooner than 3+ fking years from now.
