Ghost00 is a gamer who plays around in Foundry VTT for Traditional TTRPGs, and ghost occasionaly broadcasts game play of other games that he is playing around with.
I dont think that is a secret. I dont think its set in stone though, but I am getting these ready. I dont think the player is thrilled with what I have created.
The 1d20 years stuff would make an all dryad party interesting. They all come from the same forest and are so tied together that they emerge at the same time. They can see the changes i nthe forest and the rest of the world as they try to protect their forest from 'civilization'.
Seeing this video has gotten me to re-look through thier blog post and they also have goblins and dryads Lineage and Heritages and even a how to guide on making your own lineages and heritages. This would make great content for you to go through lol. (personally I got to re-look at the isekai blog again lmao) Keep up the good work! XD
I wonder if you could get permission to show off certain parts of the Player's Guide book. I mean you are virtually the only one showing off thier content and that means they can use anyone putting thier product out there into youtube etc... Always good to get good word of mouth traffic going! XD
I applied to their new content creator program and wasnt selected. I dont have the numbers they want yet. My reach is tiny, spread the word and maybe someday.
You see, this is scary... I made a Bearfolk on the Sunday before this came out as a Sturdy Beastkin, I did it with pen and paper, but here it is in my algorithm, remember big brother is watching!! All kidding aside, great video, thanks for breakdown. I have a hard decision to make, whether to keep it as a Beastkin or change it to a Bearfolk proper...
So yea, I am kind of waiting for the whole VTT to catch up before I do a lot of the thought on what to convert. I think there was a different ToV heritage a while back on the blog as well. I have to go catch that one too.
Great video, thank you. What is your VTT? Foundry? I plan to move all my stuff from Dndbeyond to Foundry and, of course, Tales of the Valiant. What's the situation with Tales on your VTT? Thank you. :D
So yea Foundry is my go to. ToV will come out fully eventually, there is progress every week. Lot more to happen and the base books ill come out, as that was part of the kickstarter. My only worry is how much will port, if I can get all the Kobold Press stuff I own converted that would be great, but Foundry is a bit of a labor of Love. With Blackflag being its own system, I hope the module developers will pick it up, but we will see.
I recently played a druid in a game and hated how low her AC would be/ever get. So i asked my DM if I could use my light weapons to make attacks as a bonus action. Of course i wouldn't get any bonus damage from my ability mod. But it's helped to free up my action to like dodge and make me into a flex-tank and use my action for spells and other options. It makes the idea of a sword and board fighter with a short sword so much more appealing. I'm disappointed that black flag didn't consider it as an option.
Of course there is still room for homebrew. I find the best games are were the players and the DM dont take the game too seriously. But this is a bone of centestion in many circles. Some gamers are all about creating the 'build' rather than the story. Some people have fun with that.
Is the HP for small, medium, and large better or worse than just using your character's HP (like in the D&D UA)? Moon Druids got additional temp hp and they had an ability to convert spell slots to Wild Shape without an action and then bonus action Wild Shape to re up their temp HP every round provided they had spell slots. That mechanic doesn't exist here and I expect WoTC will find wording to remove that combo before the final draft comes out. ToV put in wording here that you can't use Wild Shape to recover spell slots while in Beast Form but there doesn't seem to be any ability to use spells while in Beast Form either so I'm not sure why they have added that unless they are future proofing something or if there is something in the core game that allows the use of spell slots in some way while in Beast Form.
He HP are all based on PB and are flat. No one is gonna like PB+2 for tine through PB+84 for Huge and Garg. I believe when I see it in play it might get some home brew. On your second point, Shifter subclass 15th level feature is the casting while in beast form
Your the only one talking about ToV right now. Big Sad. However, you gained a permanent viewer since I don't care about WOTC nor 5e anymore. I am all in for ToV content! I hope you start doing videos of ToV involving The Players handbook. As there is even more to talk about with the classes!
I do plan on doing some after I cover somethings like weapon options and spell changes indepth. The Players guide, i cant throw it on the screen, so I have to go around that. It has the side affect that the algorithm doesnt love me, but who cares. :P
Essentially half caster slots plus pact magic. Of course they are going to make Mystic Arcanum an invocation. This reminds of what Wizards tried to do in their first warlock UA run except they removed Pact Magic completely while also making Mystic Arcanum an invocation. That bombed the survey specifically because of the loss of Pact Magic, something like this might have gone over better within the 5e community.
I do think KP took into account everything they saw in the WOTC UA stuff, but I really wanted more distinction from the eldritch blast build. They did some good work, but I would rather EB be an option rather than the goto, but that is really tinkering with the class.
Heroic Boon: Ritual Caster or Magical Secrets. I don't think it would break anything to add swift ritual to the ritual caster option. Being able to take rituals from other spell lists is cool but casting rituals as an action is cooler.
I dont know I thematically can get there, especially when you are unlimited on the rituals in your spellbook, I think the wizard is a bit underwhelming. I might tinker with an idea centered around action economy, like that they could cast 2 circle spells provided they have the action, or maybe even give them like a PB/LR or similar bonus to spell potency(damage or duration)
I wonder how the lore bard stacks up to the wizard when it comes to ritual spells. In the D&D UA all classes got access to ritual spells and to be able to cast ritual spells without the added time was as simple as taking a feat. Some wizards thought this was encroaching on their territory a little bit along with multiple classes having access to the complete Arcane spell list. D&D UA did go back to class lists but the Wizards in ToV are sharing their spells with multiple classes.
So Lore bard opens up to an additional magic source, while wizard might be built to take advantage of an additional source. Wizard spellbook feature is still gonna be top rocks as unlimited rituals just gotta get access.
It is a cool subclass, I'm not sure it's super OP, but it's definitely a top of class combat build if that is the game you find yourself in. :P Put this guy in Courts of the Shadow Fey KP module and watch the player cringe himself to death as it primarily political intrigue in Act II.
The nerf is even worse since they use a shared divine spell list with clerics. Clerics with branding smite and 9th level spells essentially become better paladins
@@Alex-rq8mh Hmm, not sure I agree with that. on a D8 hit die, and less attacks, not sure the cleric can pull the holy warrior weight at higher levels. They for sure make a different kind of holy warrior.
@Ghost00sGames This version of the paladin is almost identical to the first ua dnd one rendition. It was a big point of contention because a war cleric who now shares their spell list will typically out perform them in melee damage. Spiritual weapon plus spirit guardians..plus the extra attack which with mark of Justice. What I would have lime to have seen is to allow the paladin to smite more than once per turn but as a progression...just like the warlocks eldritch blast is now exclusively tied to their class. As it plays now the paladin is more of support class with its auras. At higher levels it's spirit guardians and spirit weapon will be negated by monsters with lesser magic immunity. I haven't seen oath of Justice yet but they have become the new monk 5e of tov...then again I love the paladin class so it could just be grieving
I like how the two subclasses (the Metalurgist and the one in the official book) lets you use int as your mod for weapons. I personally love fireing a pistol with int.
I feel its like a cheap shot at making a non IP flagable Artificer, but I do like the class. Dont know when I will see em in action though, only so many games fit in me schedule
Its a shame arcane trickster is not included, not in the SRD nor in the official TotV book. But i assume is because the conversion is not very difficult.
I mean considering how large ToV had to be, there is a limit to how much they could tackle. I expect KP at the very least will continue to evolve ToV. I am currently crafting my first homebrew full class that came out of my homebrew campaign that played for a year plus. I do think the framework they created is very easy to use.
…my only recommendation, this content notwithstanding of course, is to hit the sweet-spot of 10-12 minutes per video. There are always exceptions, but find out what element you’d like to cover and hone in on it. Again, this particular video is definitely exempt. As stated before, your asset is a direct and focussed delivery. Good luck and I look forward to your next publication.
Clear delivery with a straightforward, yet comprehensive presentation of the Black Flag system. Really appreciate your review and excellent communication skills. We need more informative videos like this. Thanks for covering Kobold’s foray with Valiant and the BFRD.
These are really good. I like that the cleric or bard doesn't have to take both Cure Wounds and Healing Word now. It's one spell now so they can take a different spell now.
@@Ghost00sGames My party right now has a Lore Bard healer, Tempest Cleric blaster, and a Battle Smith Artificer tank. And now they could all heal better and be different about it.
Just one thing: You intended the bards healing to be more "mercurial" but instead made it more reliable then the cleric. Not only is the Bards average higher (9.5 > 9) but also you can expect the bards healing to fall between 8 and 11 (spellmod excluded) 53% of the time, while the clerics healing would hit 8-11 only 43% of the time. Adding more dice never makes a roll more erratic.
WoTBro has reveled themselves to be too toxic to support and think of myself as a good person. Even my typical human level capacity for self deception can't make that check with a Nat 20. I've put my game on hold until this comes out. I've told my players that they can bring their WoTC books and characters or their self respect, but they can't bring both. Let me be clear, The OGL thing wasn't just an attack on the 3rd party industry, it was also an attack and massive declaration of "No Respect" to the community. That's you and me.
I agree for the most part, In my own mind I separate corporate WOTC from the D&D team. Or at least the D&D team the way it was 2 years ago. Now after being gutted and stomped on by the corporate head shack, leaves them pretty bankrupt in the community at large. It will be interesting at least to watch how the 'new' D&D comes out, but I think I am with you. ToV is gonna be a good step. The PDF versions should be available by Kobold Con (May 10-12)
