I got over zealous with gold leaf on my polymer clay. Completely encasing my piece. I found it would never harden, baked it multiple times and it stayed super soft and pliable. It wasn’t until I scraped one side of the gold leaf and did the final bake, that it hardened. I would suggest if someone wants to completely cover an item, they only do half, and use an adhesive to cover the second side after it’s baked. Still love using both. 😊
Great video! Very informative! I have the same question as @hollylowery26 - where is the section on attaching the ball chain? Do you use the clay adhesive for that? Also - Question #2 - how do you dispose of the cleaning alcohol you used to clean the stencil? Thanks so much!
Beautiful project! However when you did the twisted rope and the beaded chain on the edge of the dish and edge of the towers you didn't show us how you did it in either place of the video. I looked 3 times just to make sure I didn't miss it. I have been watching your videos for about 5 years and this is the first time I have ever seen you forget to include such an important step.
Thank you for making this video, y'all! I have seen this product in the store, many times and never gave it a second thought; but now I'm trying to work in clay for profit, and I think this sounds neat to try!
Thank you so much for this! I tried using the Clear several years ago and got frustrated with the separation and trying to mix it inside that tiny bottle! I did eventually take it out into a bowl but I had no lid for it and I hadn't scraped the bottle completely I don't think. Anyway I wasn't thrilled and haven't tried working with the liquid since. I have several colors as well as clear and am eager to try them out. What is the difference between Clear and Transparent Liquid Sculpey?
You are a fantastic teacher! I’ve been working with polymer clay for a few years on and off (in no way an expert though!). Canes have amazed and completely perplexed me! This is the first instructional video that actually computes in my brain. Thank you! Much respect to all the cane artists out there!
