Hello Everyone! My name is Meaghan Piretti and I am a professor for the radiologic technologist program at a community college. I teach positioning courses and labs and assist students with ARRT board prep. COVID started me on the path to online course development and recording lectures. I hope they are helpful to students in radiology!
What’s the difference in radiation received from a cell phone in the back pocket versus putting a one half inch space between the cell phone and the body?
5:27 Excuse me Meaghan, so it is still the same technique for both PA and AP Caldwell, right if I am not wrong? I am trying to imagine and because we already 15 tube angle caudad and cephalad respectively
Thank you. I’ve been a tech for 30 years but just accepted a job as program director. I haven’t taught the physics portion before and I’m rusty. I want to make sure my students will understand and this was very helpful.
Dang i wish i saw this video today! Literally had the 3rd example as a patient today in PACU..... she could bend her knee well but her foot was bandaged in place and fixed... i stuffed everything i could find behind the IR to get my IR to match her foot but there was still OID 😢 i however gave some more SID.... Ugh they werent textbook but at least i wasnt called to go redo the exam 😅 Great stuff Megan! Thanks!
I’m retaking the registry in about a month and a half for the third time. I’ve been just a few points from passing. I’m just so scared. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Do you have any other helpful tools?
@@jazzypeach1780 mines was about the same May of had like 3 to 4 questions I had on the first one. Get Rad review go through the questions read the rationales even if you get it right. Learn the why and how’s. The video on this channel really helped as well. Don’t rush it. Time yourself at question 100 you should have 240 min left at 200 110 min and you have 30 more questions and 30 mins to go over the flagged ones.
What do you mean by Medial Ascending, Lateral Descending? The right will always be the ascending colon, and you can tell this is right lateral decubitus b/c of air/fliud levels. The left will always be the descending colon, unless they have situs inversus.
Hi! Good question. In these questions you will split the ascending colon into medial and lateral sides to answer barium or air locations. Same with descending colon. The medial sides of the colon are the sides closest to the spine. Lateral sides are at the outside or lateral borders of the body.
Hello meghan. I’m loving your videos already. I’m going into my first year of the radiography program and wanted to know where I should start watching some videos. I’d love to get some info down before I start
Wishing you lots of luck in your program! Any anatomy review you do will significantly increase your success in the radiology program. Review A&P materials. Purposegames.com is a free anatomy website as well. You might also look at my positioning 1 playlist. Those are my semester one lectures for my program. You will do great!
@@meaghanpiretti7340 thanks so much! Just got my hands on merrills and gonna get a head start and do what you said. Looking forward to watching all you have
Hi, I am not taking on any tutoring students at this time. I know of 2 tutors, Merryl Fulmer and Camille Allred. www.merrylfulmer.com/ www.focusedonphotons.com/
Hi Meaghan, My ARRT license was expired in 2017 , I am preparing to reinstate my license, what are the books so I could review to be ready for exam. Thank you so much
If the tube is angle for a camp convetry tunnel view would the CR be considered to be parallel to the long axis of the tibia of perpendicular? Thank you
Hi, no the patient is in RAO there is no tube angle. The image in the top right corner is showing a trauma alternative with a tube angle. This is a very small oblique!
THIS!!!! you have made it finally click in my brain!!! Thank you so much!! Would love to be able to print your slides, do you offer access to them? thanks
Where do you teach? Are you in SoCal? How do we message you personally? Hope to hear from you. I would like to know how I can contact you for some help.
Hi, no I don't know of anyone in Miami. I am in Massachusetts. Have him look into a Kettering seminar in his area. I have a zoom review session happening currently.
Hello Meaghan I am taking my registry in 2 months and came across your RU-vid channel. I’m excited to go through all the videos. I wanted to know your opinion on the best material/sites to use to study for the test? I’m very nervous and overwhelmed because there is so much material and everyone uses different materials and I just don’t know where to start. Thank you.
Thank you sooo much for these videos! I just watched the fluoro playlist and I can't believe how much easier it is to understand than trying to read it out of a book (I find Bushong very confusing), or the jumbled up power point our instructor uses. Thank you thank you thank you!!
About to take my boards on May 30th 2024, and when you said you were taking suggestions for an acronym for remembering Foreshortening, Part alignment....I came up with FAP= Foreshortening, alignment of part. Slightly inappropriate but you better believe I remember it. 10/1 odds I burst out laughing remembering while I take the boards.
