Earplugs just suck. I don't believe anyone actually uses them unless they plan on cruising for a solid 3 hours. They fall out, they feel disgusting, they sound worse than going deaf. Ughhh.
I bought 6 different types of foam earplugs from hearos and honeywell. Im trying the hearos nanos, they are extra small, doesn’t give me migraine, blocks wind noise , but other noise only blocks about 50%
I saw this video some months ago, and bought the loop earplugs. They work ok, except for one thing - this might just relate to my ear canals, I don't know, but I find that about one in five insertions one of the earplugs goes in skew (or something) and I get imperfect sound suppression - especially wind noise gets by, which is very irritating because I typically only discover this when I am on the road. I have been searching on and off for an alternative, and finally found it. They are called decibullz, and they auto-locate in your ear as they are custom formed to the shape of your ear. This solves my problem. Also, they have 3 alternate canal inserts, for low medium and high suppression. The high is great, quieter than loop. Take a look.
Thank you very much for this video. I didn’t know this brand and after trying 3 different models (including the MotoSafe) I bought the Loop Quiet 2. They filter wind noise really well and above all, they stay in place in my ear even if I yawn or move my helmet. My only regret is that they also filter a lot of the sound of my exhaust. Thank you again, for me it is the best value for money.
I have had form fitted "musicians" plugs (with 15 and 25db filters, lost the 25's at some point) for about 20 years (surprised myself when I realized how long ago I got them)... They have been great but one is finally breaking at the ear canal piece. Going to try the Alpine plugs and see how they do. I remember the ear mold injection process being a bit painful on my ears... and they weren't cheap either.
alpines - be aware - the little silicon stalks broke off when trying to take em out. Earplugs then stuck deep in my ear canal until I got to a pharamacy and managed to get em out with long tweezers. Not a good experience. Those stalks should be a seperate more solid material.. not silicon.
I'll check out these apps thanks. I've been using strava to learn my way aroundthe bush, not great for navigation but I like how it records my route and it also has shows you where single trails are if someone else has been down them using strava
Woooooooow. Im impressed..no w i have an idea of how ill fix mine...ive been waiting for a certain mech to confirm my appointment for a pannier rack and he's taking ages or not interested with doingvit for me...ill make one like that then share with you....will buy the steel and head on to a welder and use your video as the manual. Thanks i like it❤❤❤❤
I am new rider I search for the best earplugs because I do not want to mess up my hearing do to wind while riding I came across your videos your made about loop earplugs after watching a bunch of RU-vidrs recommend other brands and for some reason I went with your suggestion I ordered the loop Experience earplugs can’t wait to get them. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks for the review. I've been wearing Hearprotek earplugs that I found on amazon, and I think they are fine, but don't have much to compare them to since the only ones I wore prior were foamies. I'm wondering if you or anyone in the comments has worn these Hearprotek ones and can compare them to other earplugs.
This looks awesome! I'm looking to upgrade my KLX 250 (EFI) with a rally tower setup. I've seen a cool one from Indonesia, and Australia, but with the hefty shipping costs and taxes, it's nearing Dakar prices... I like this setup you're using, closer to the bike and the windshield infront of the lights. Is your windshield reflecting any kind of light back towards you in the evening darkness? My mate wants to upgrade his Honda XR400 so we might build two of these and fit them to our bikes. Cheers!
I’m have used the Alpine ones but found they twisted inside my ear… sideways… maybe I did something wrong. I like the loops so thinking of trying their newer ones that allow music / comms to come through…
that Tiger sounds like such a ripper. Great mix of bikes here. All 4 of them got the job done just fine. So far Ive owned an old TM100, dr350s. KlR650(2nd gen) Tiger 800xc. Im ready for the DR650 next.
Too bad i don't have a welder. I'm trying to make a side rack to mount a 5 L metal jerrycan to an old Transalp. YT isn't much help, well i have a rivet gun, hack saw and a drill. I guess they'll have to do👍🇳🇱
