I bought some chineese slash copies. I should install them. Im so busy these days though I would love to put some in my epiphone LP. You got me excited now.
How did guitar center survive and Sam ash went out. Never thought I would see that. Heard guitar center should their shares pretty much what Gibson did. Now Gibson is turning into a joke with all the crap they are selling
Right?? GC has been in financial trouble since I can remember! I can vividly recall when I started working at Ash in 2007 and GC was “going under”… crazy. Sam Ash could have tried different ways to stay afloat, I just think they (the 4th Ash gen) didn’t care enough about their legacy to carry on. And just wanted to cut their losses and cash out
Lombard IL location was total garbage. Salesmen that were on their phones and had no clue when you asked questions. Used gear being broken and strings a mile off the fretboards. Super high pressure car lot vibes due to commission. No ability to make returns at a different location. No ability to look at national used inventory online and pull from other stores. Store was filthy. Half the amps weren't plugged in. Just a bad experience all around. Some of my SamAsh highlights over the years? $1800 Fender bass that had fallen off the peg hook and had 3 inch chunk of wood missing from the body... 10% off lolf Asked to demo a Marshall head and the salesman plugged a speaker wire from the speaker output, to the input of the guitar...and walked away. Asked about a used Digitech 2120 and as the salesman is plugging it in, he tells me that all of their used gear is always in perfect working order which is why they're better than the guys across the street. He then runs the speaker cable of the power amp to the input of the preamp, turns it on and an immediate loud POP comes out followed by a bit of smoke from the preamp.
Thanks for the video. I got this weird problem since maybe last 10 years and despite trying almost everything, I just can't figure it out. My guitar DI sounds very very very boomy and thin at the same time. I've tried amp sim plugins from Neural DSP, Mercuriall, ML sound, Amplitube, TH-U, STL and many others. The final guitar sound is horrible. Totally unusable. I've watched countless youtube videos and tried to setup my plugins exactly like any user. But the sound is totally horrible at my place and it's absolutely beautiful when others play on youtube. It's almost night and day difference. I've tried to import other people's DI into my DAW and run it through my plugins. And it sounds awesome. It's only my DI which sounds horrible. This makes me believe something is seriously wrong with my input signal. I've tried on RME Babyface Pro FS and Focusrite scarlett 2i2 (gen 2). Both sound horrible when playing live, but awesome when running other people's DI through my plugins. I've tried to mess with the input gain knob on both the interface. Tried to set them to zero (and also higher previously). But the results are same. Boomy and thin at same time. Can you please tell me what's wrong? Thanks a lot!
Great video! I'd like to ask a question! I am aware that there are various connections diagrams depending on the signal chain used ( no distorsion, only pedals distorsion, only amp distorsion, amp and pedal distorsion). Is it possible to use the ns with a preamp pedal placed in the return of an amp? The ns use the send and the return to kill the noise, so I was curious about the right connections to do in this case! With the amp gain only both the send and the return of the amp are used with the loop of the pedal, but with the return used with the preamp how should it be connected? Thanks a lot!
@@mattlortz6026 Can't argue with that! It's a superb album... I could make a case for almost every one of the first 6 albums and say they are the best on they've put out! lol
My dude....Enthrone cant be your #1 favorite....lol. Its amazing but they peaked at Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia with maybe the best metal song of all time...Kings of the Carnival Creation.
Hated Under pressure when it came out, but it was way ahead of its time. Some of these you don't listen to, as I don't either, because the media and kids these days overplay everything by Queen. I mean, I don't think I will ever listen to Bohemian Rhapsody anymore, and it is a masterpiece.
The thing about the first three albums is that every song needs to be in that order played as part of a whole album. This sets the mood. By themselves, most of the songs can't stand alone.
I’ve done some… Time, Money.. I don’t think I’ve done Comfortably Numb yet but it’s one of my favorites so it’s coming… I recorded the Echoes one as well but I gotta find it. Last one I was working on was the solo to On an Island from his solo album but sadly Floyd doesn’t seem to be a gateway to many views 😢
I disagree wih you somewhat. I think it depends, you see: I've had 2 DS-1, one made in Taiwan and one made in Japan and a DS-2. I've always used them with a clean amp because different distortion pedals make different sounds. The DS-2 always sounded great as long as it is on the Turbo I setting. But when it comes to the Taiwanese DS-1 I really didn't like it stock but it doesn't sounded as bad as most people make it out to be, for punk rock it sounds "fine", I'll just put it that way; I had to "mod" it, to make it sound sort of like an overdrive by cutting a resistor I think which cut most of that thinnes but sacrificing gain. However, as for the Japanese DS-1, I thnk it may be one of the best sounding pedals I've ever played (and I've played a Marshall Guvnor, ProCo Rat, EHX Big Muff, MXR Distorion Plus, Jekkyl & Hyde, Ibanez Tubecreamer, Ibanez Overdrive/Distortion, DOD Super American Metal and a large etc), which at the same time I'm not saying it is the best of them all but it just has a lot of great harmonics and the distortion just sounds full. For Alternative/Hardcore Punk/Math Rock Iand even some light shoegaze/post-rock (which are the genres that I play) I think it is a great pedal.
The first five Sabbath albums (from 1970. to 1973.) perfectly suit my taste. My top favorite Sabbath songs have to be Solitude, Sweat Leaf, The Wizard, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and especially Changes! What a band...what a discography...
I find it's that most people, especially beginners don't know how to dial it in. Instead of scooping the mids and boosting bass and treble, they should cut the bass (a lot), boost the mids and adjust mid frequency to taste, then once the treble gets fizzy, back off a bit. Also, nobody needs that much distortion. Even for metal. Back it up some... like middle position or lower. 😂
For me, the DS1 is excellent for leads kinda like the same treatment that Vai and Satriani did with this pedal Putting to push the leads in an already mid-gain amp for the sustain and harmonics
Yes! I do mention that in the video… they are definitely not for everybody but if you are comparing them to Elixirs then it’s understood you like silky strings that last forever 🤘🏻
Nice! A Tony Martin fan at last!! I love most of his albums as well! Sad to see self titled and dehumanizer so low on a list but I love to see opposing views lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It sucks that my local Mars music store went out of business in Orlando Florida where I used to live that was taken over by Sam Ash I was happy to see it but now I'm sad to see them go out of business
Do you have any advice for alternate picking and palm muting at the same time? I can alternate pick but I can only do it if I switch the way I'm holding the pick while playing and I struggle to palm mute the low E and alternate pick it at the same time. Most of the time unless I switch how my arm is placed and switch how I'm holding the pick, the pick gets stuck on the strings when I try to do it.
I'd have to look over your technique and maybe give you some exercises and pointers to fix that... It's all on the technique and posture of your elbow and wrist. You might benefit from wrist movement or thumb movement.. again, I'd have to see it... I do give Zoom guitar lessons if you are interested. Hit me up on IG @patricioposse and we can chat about it! If not, I'm sure there's tons of RU-vid videos that can help you with that. Practice makes perfect... Best of luck!

The Kerry King album is what I call "computer metal". It sounds like every other metal band now. Computer sounding guitars and drums. Very disappointed.
Try the boost function into a Boss DS-1 tone at 9 0clock, distortion full and level full.. adjust the marshall boost volume to suit .. awesome tones from DS-1 this way.. add delay and reverb and lose a few hours jamming away
Nice! I’ve since traded this pedal for a different pedal to cover on the channel but I’m sure someone can benefit from checking this setting out! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Names a band after himself and shit talks the band that made him a successful musician, yet everyone else is the problem right? Not a creative thing in his new music, and i dont think im alone in that thought, Most uneventful boring album ive heard in years.
Although I'd have to disagree that the debut is more influential to metal than Paranoid, this is a pretty goddamned good ranking you've got here. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks boss!! I can’t discredit Paranoid’s contribution! It was the album that changed it all! I just think the impact that diminished fifth had on metal is also undeniable and single-handedly spawned metal as we know it! Glad you enjoyed the list and disagreeing and debating is what this is all about! As long as we keep it civil I will always appreciate opposing views and opinions! Thanks for watching and commenting 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
