Schade, dass auf der ansonsten guten Aufnahme dieser hübschen Kurzmesse die Solostimmen den Chorklang übertönen. Das hätte ich mir gerne aus 25 Metern Entfernung angehört. :-)

When I was in the NYU Choral Arts way back in the last millenium, we performed the Brahms Requiem and I got to know this piece very well. It's always been a favourite and this recording is both very faithful to the score and overflows with the tenderness that is it's hallmark. It also never slides inadvertantly into gross sentimentality. A balm for the soul.
