Go-Pods™ - the best micro-tourer caravans! Similar in size to teardrop caravans, these small 2 berth caravans offer a seating area, sleeping area and standing height. Easy to tow with small cars too, as this lightweight caravan weighs just 480Kg. So no special licence required either. High build quality, a one piece shell to minimise the risk of leaks and a very comprehensive package that includes a cooker, fridge, flatscreen TV, loo, Go-Tarp canopy and more! www.Go-Pods.co.uk
Some owners prefer to pop their table outside in the awning with one of the Fiamma tripod bases. Others just slide the table underneath the bed when it's not in use.
They don't have a washroom as there is nowhere to put one. We have one and use site facilities or have a loo tent for night-time. That's what keeps the weight down to 750Kg.
Having no separate toilet and/or shower area is a shame in any caravan. I wonder if the next iteration could consider losing the storage on the non kitchen side and moving the fridge to under the hob. This could enable that other side to have a self contained toilet at least, possibly with a shower head aswell 🤷♂️ think most people would prefer that and have to keep more items in the car. Always preferable to needing to go toilet in front of eachother even at night or going to shower block or in a cold toilet tent outside!
Toilet in awning, most people prefer to use proper showers even those who have a shower in their van because they are usually cramped. If you really wanted to get washed inside your caravan the better way would be to have a large builders bucket with a drain pipe leading outside and a detachable shower curtain with a portable shower pipe and head.
Thanks for your comment. The issue with toilet/shower rooms in caravans is that they tend to add 400kg in weight at the very least. One of the core concepts of the Go-Pod is that it can be towed by almost any car due to the low MTPLM of just 750kg. As the other reply to your comment mentioned, you really can't beat a plumbed in proper shower on a campsite in terms of pressure and water temperature. Integrated showers/toilets are useful for off-grid stays, but let's be honest - how often do people really off-grid in the UK? The other user also makes a great point about caravan wetrooms being cramped and impractical. Speaking to Go-Pod owners who've downsized from larger caravans, many have said that they typically used their toilet/shower rooms as extra storage as they weren't practical for washing in. Seems a waste of space if that's the case - only the gargantuan twin axle caravans and motorhomes really have actual usable space in the wetrooms.
@@joshlovingoutdoors4455 you make some great points Josh, and these thoughts have been echoed by quite a few Go-Pod owners who've downsized from larger caravans. So many have said that they found their washrooms completely impractical and ended up using them as an extra storage cupboard. There are a couple of excellent gas powered external showers on the market now (the Hottap V2 seems particularly popular) which are an acceptable compromise for hardcore off-gridders who prefer to stay on sites without facilities. Go-Pods can have an external gas socket fitted to the rear which is plumbed through to the gas bottle in the front locker, and these gas powered shower units can be plugged directly into that socket. Used in conjunction with shower tents (Colapz retail some very nice quality versions) and a drain tray, they're the next best thing to an onboard shower room.
We bought a Go-Pod because we don't want an onboard shower and loo. We wanted something small and aerodynamic, easy to tow and no stress. If someone wants a shower and loo, the market is swamped with caravans that contain this, even small ones. We have a pop up facilities tent. This pops up super quickly, we put in the things we travel with in the Pod whilst we set up and then we have the facilities tent for storing the loo, shoes and other things. We can hang wet waterproofs in there, all sorts. We put the loo in the awning at night and back in the loo tent in the morning when it has been emptied. Works perfectly for us.
Due to the curvature of the shell at the front of the Go-Pod, the length varies between 174cm - 192cm - 174cm at the furthest edges, and 192cm in the centre. At the longest point, it is only slightly shorter than a UK king size bed (200cm) but is also slightly wider at 157cm (UK king size width is 150cm).
Hi John, Thanks for your comment. The updated video with pull-out slats can be found here - vimeo.com/398891980 Please feel free to contact us with any questions! - Go-Pods
Hello - thanks for the question. The Go-Pod has it's own leisure battery included. The standard fridge runs off mains hook up but since 2020 we can offer an alternative compressor fridge that will run full time off the 12V supply.
