The first Marathas to marry their daughters to Muslims were :- 1) Ramdevrai Jadhav of deogiri married his daughter to Allauddin Khilji 2) Mukundrao Kadamba married his sister Poonji Bai to Sultan Yusuf Adil Shah 3) Maratha Deshmukh of Sangmeshwar also married his daughter to Muslim Ahmadnagar Sultans. Marathas emerged after downfall of Mughal empire in 18th Century. When mughals were strong that time marathas did not have aristocratic status as high as Rajputs. Hence there were no marriages of mughals with daughters of marathas. Few Rajput states married their daughters to mughals when Mughal empire was in peak power and they had no other option to sign treaty with them because of lack of unity among rajputs. Still there were many Rajputs like Mewad region , Hadauti region , Ranthambor, Bundelkhand who did not marry their daughters to Mughals. Only the rajputs of Shekhawati region & Marwad region had married their daughters to Mughals but in return the wives of those Rajputs were also from Mughals and other muslim tribes
