A jazz drummer of 35+ years and collector/historian. I have Spinal Muscle Atrophy & have been in a wheelchair since 1981.

I started the first website dedicated to Gene Krupa in 1997, which now has a Facebook group: America’s Ace Drummer Man: Gene Krupa. I also moderate two Buddy Rich groups on Facebook: Buddy’s Lounge & Buddy’s Place.

I also run a Facebook page dedicated to legendary guitarists Tony Mottola & Al Caiola: The Living Guitars of Tony Mottola & Al Caiola. You can find me on Facebook under the screen name “drumuitar”

This channel is primarily centered around jazz & big band with an emphasis on drummers, but also includes a mix of my other musical loves: bachelor pad, exotica, and easy listening/mood music of the 1950s-70s, as well as a smattering of instrumental surf rock and vintage Christmas music.

Krupa actually loved playing drums unlike all the drummers out there today that have no good honest reason why they took up the art form.

Reminds me of a lower-volume version of the jazz pieces played by "The Fisherman" and his band in the jazz-bar scene of the classic 1949 film "D.O.A."

I wish Jazz was his problem today as it was from 1935 through 1945 sincerely JW Miller😮 I was told that back then the local PBS station has claimed that there were some 30,000 bands on the road at that time and I'm sure they did on what they could to boost the economy and libido

The drum solo is one of the best I've heard. Is "Nardis" the name of the song or the drum solo? Either way I really enjoy this it's another great video by thecrippledrummer 🔥 👍👍

This was the best of the big bands. Their tight rhythms on upbeat songs was the greatest.(and I love all big bands of the 30’s and 40’s).

Classic Krupa crisp solid and never missing a beat. I listen and can visualize Gene playing spinning the sticks and catching them in the air keeping time and rhythm. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The most influential drummer of the 20th Century. End of story.
