The Souliotis NEVER identified as Albanians....As a matter of fact they were running from the Albanians which brought them to their fate..Northern Epirus STILL has plenty of Greeks who speak Albanian and Greek.Even when the Albanian government is hostile towards them and don't like when GREEKS speak Greek.BTW during the Ottoman period there were Christian Albanians who NEVER identified as Christian GREEKS.

@@xdx2653 in Italy there are villages like Piana dei Greci (Piana dei Albanesi since after the war) where everyone speaks albanian. Same in the village of Greci in Campania, everyone speaks albanian even though they were called greeks. "Greek" was a religious denomination and not a ethnonym.

@@cobone04 Christian albanians who were never identified as greeks were catholics. Orthodox albanians on the other hand dont even hear their own language in their own churches. Orthodox albanians are mostly bilingual in greek and albanian.
