Where does 1 Peter 3:21 fit with your view on Baptism? 1 Peter 3:21 ESV [21] Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Hi Carl, and thanks for the question. Peter is saying what the rest of the New Testament is saying: baptism does not bring salvation, but pictures what has happened to us spiritually. He says this explicitly when he says, “not as a removal of dirt from the body,” that is the water means nothing, except for what it is pointing to, namely faith in Christ. When you look at the context, it’s very clear Peter is consistent with the rest of the New Testament. The argument of 1 Peter 3:19-22 is this: 1. God was patient in judgment (20). 2. The waters of the flood (judgment) were saving for Noah and his family only as they believed God; the flood waters were damning for everyone else who did not believe. 3. The flood waters were a type of baptism (“baptism which corresponds to this” v. 21). 4. Baptism is not salvific. Water removes dirt, but a person is not saved because they’ve been dunked. 5. Baptism is grounded in the resurrection of Christ and a persons faith in Christ. In summary, Peter can say Baptism saves because it pictures the inward faith of a believer (the appeal to God) and the cleansing brought through faith in Christ (good conscience). This comes only through faith in Jesus Christ who has been raised from the dead. I hope that is helpful. Graham

I tell you, whatever you say, there will be no Christianity without the Roman Catholics nowadays, the dogma of 3 in 1 God or the Triun God that you believe in are from the Dogma of the Ancient Church which is Roman Catholics, even the first Protestant was a Bishops a German Priest named Martin Luther who established his being a protestor only in the 16 Century, so, is it okay to say that Christianity was put in place initiatively just in the 16 century. So it seem it will come out that Islam was first to have been founded, organized rather than Christianity!🤨

I am so sorry to hear of Jean's passing! I did not know she was gone until today, Sept.19. I worked with Jean for almost 8 years, and she made a job that I loved even more lovable. We were kind of like two peas in a pod. The Kelly family had the same sense of humor that my family had, so we enjoyed a game of one-upmanship regularly. I loved Jean, and we had many discussions in regards to Our Savior, the afterlife, and getting where we wanted to go. I am not of the same faith, but a good many of the important 'bits' are very much alike. In 1988, our family had to move to Utah for my husband's work, and I think I missed Jean most of all. But most importantly, I must tell Keith and "The Boys" that while there is sadness and mourning in your houses today, find great Joy, because Jean is with Our Savior now, no longer confused, or in pain. She is at peace, and I know she would want you all to be at peace also. Sue Feltus

You said in your sermon that Paul in his letter to the Corinthians said the difference between saved Jews and unsaved Jews is that the saved Jews see Christ in the Old Testament. What verse do we learn this from?

Hey Carl, look at 2 Corinthians 3:12-18. There Paul is specifically referring to Jews who read the Old Testament and do not see Jesus and his glory. But, when they turn to Christ God takes away that veil so that they can see and behold the glory of Jesus in the gospel about him.

We have been blessed joining your live stream. Your reading from Colossians today was beautiful. One of my latest compositions is based on that portion of Scripture. Thank you for your service. www.reverbnation.com/deboraharcher/song/31888255-from-colossians-one
