Hi, I replaced my APC battery with a brand new one from Amazon yesterday, when I plugged my unit it in it showed 3 bars then it went down to 2 bars a couple of hours later then this morning it showed no bars for the battery. Did I get a bad battery or is my APC X-1000 no good?
After over $500 and three bad sensors in a row failed, I called Abbott, I could barely understand because the out of country support agent could barely speak English, I was told that they would NOT replace any of them! ABBOTT SUCKS!
I have never experienced that. Abbott has a very good tech support dept, infact there was one time when i had two sensors fail on the same day they replaced them both

After removing the 319D diode for the lCOM 2730, the transmitter (TX) became permanently on. When I turn on the signal repeater. Is there a solution for that?
I'm running a direct power run to my battery. Rig is TS480SAT and antenna is a short hamstick from MFJ on the rear corner of the roof on a mag mount. I'm getting a sort of pulsing hash noise on my radio that makes it hard to hear weaker stations. I have no reports of noise on transmit. Also, noise floor is probably S7 most of the time. Any ideas? I will not be drilling holes into the vehicle, btw. I have tried to switch to a lip mount system but it just really won't work on this vehicle (Hyundai Veloster) due to very small clearances. Would an active filter in the DC line, or a filter kit from Palomar which is ferrite beads for power and antenna wiring likely help? The pulsing noise is not there if the engine is not running.
As a danish Packers fan, I just wanna say thank you for this video, because even though it is my biggest dream to go there and experience everything lambeau field has to offer, I highly doubt that I Can find the right time for me to go there, so unless I find the time this is probably the best behind the scenes at lambeau I Will see❤
A small, mostly irrelevant note: I wasn't sure if the concept of simplex and half/full duplex were the same as those used in digital systems communications, but it seems they are after some research. The walkie-talkie example was labeled as being simplex in this video, but I believe this would more accurately be considered half-duplex, since the communication is bi-directional but transmit and receive cannot be performed simultaneously. The example of using separate frequencies for transmit and receive to achieve concurrent transmission and reception would then be full-duplex. Anyway, great content thank you for the video!
Very helpful. I want buy land out in the middle of nowhere and build on it. So communication with home will be important, as cell service might be non existent. I figure why not have a mobile base station and a home base. So I can talk to home that would be around 1000 miles away, while I'm freezing up north. Cool stuff here.
The video shows 12-7 batteries but the still photo shows 12-9. Just want to confirm which was used. The 9ah flavor is usually a little taller than the 7ah
I remember when my mother, of blessed memory, was diagnosed. Insulin was cheap but test strips were out of reach. She just guestimated most of the time. I went on to work for her prescription insurance carrier and she was over the moon when I told her supplies were no cost IF the pharmacy submitted the claim for insulin first. Now, my own prescription insurance doesn't even cover meters but they are $20-30 on Amazon.
Great video! As a new HAM, much appreciated! Does the radial plat need to be connected to the antenna or the ground mounting rod? I am installing HFV9 with 14 AWG CU wires. I have the DX engineering plate. A second question is, can I anchor the plat directly to the mounting rod (ground rod) using a metal U-bolt or should I install a separate pvc pipe next to the ground rod in order to anchor the radial plate? I've gotten excellent results with just four ground radials. My recent build of a dual band 30m / 6m center loaded antenna has four radials and an SWR of 1.05 . The radiation lobes aren't super duper low to the horizon or perfectly omnidirectional but the results were far from "a horrible system." I did it with only three radials on a 11m CB 1/4 wave long ago where I DX'd 500 miles on 4 watts AM so it can't be that "horrible" with three either. My experience and measurements show that improvement is marginal with more than 8 and the only reason commercial AM stations use so many is that they are usually running tens of thousands of watts and need to get very low radiation lobes for maximum coverage. For ham it's not that critical so don't waste your time putting in more than 8. It also depends on the conductivity of your local ground.
