@alessia294 Oh, thank you!! Lastly, do they have the all around or event finals too link for 2008? Thank you much ❤❤ I watch the 2012 all the time!! Lol
This is heartbreaking knowing what happened to Bailey. She was one of my favorite gymnasts ever and it's sad she never got to realize her dream. I saw her compete one time for the University of Alabama (where she went when Florida revoked their offer) and then she had to retire permanently after that due to injuries. I truly hope she was able to find happiness in her life after gymnastics.
@@Lilyanne97 they were given the opportunity to go as neutral athletes (not under roc name tho, i think they wouldve been just named Neutral Olympic Athletes or smth) but the federation rejected without even informing the gymnasts of their choice theres other governing bodies such as swimming where some athletes have applied for neutral status and received it but theres been some backlash towards them
canada qualified to the olympics last year so they sent a young team and didnt do very well romania hasnt been team final level in forever even though they did send a team and qualify to the olympics germany has many injured gymnasts so even though they did send a team they didnt qualify it to the olympics ukraine level is even lower than romania so they only sent a few gymnasts and one of them qualified
Such a shame about Ukraine. I thought Romania might have been doing better since it's already time for Paris but obviously not, though it's good that they have been building up the team after so many years of nothing since Iordache and Ponor were holding the team together. Germany has some good individuals but sad about the team not qualifying. I do love Canada but they seemed to rely on their older gymnasts so I'm not 100% surprised that the younger team struggled. As it stands, Russian Federation won't be defending their gold so this year if the USA hold their nerve and the GB girls up their game, they could go Gold and Silver respectively. That is wishful thinking on my part as a Brit but I think that there will be a real fight for the silver/bronze in Paris.
@@lanpingpug i think romania has real potential for first time in a while its just their nerves arent great and also injury situation is sketchy so idk if too many of the girls will continue past paris i think china and brazil have better shot than gb and if the girls stay healthy italy also, but i think the gb girls were v impressive at euros in spite of the difficult situation and i think they could do well in paris, obviously not the same as they could have w ondine jessica and maybe amelie but still better than feared
While I enjoy the commentators here, there is one thing they lack that the American ones don’t. Actually it’s a combination of 2 things. First, I appreciate positivity as much as the next person, but please stop being positive about a routine that below average. They need to stop congratulating a gymnast on a “good routine,” when from a judge’s point of view, it was not. There was a vault they were rather positive about, because the gymnast simply put her feet down. But there were bent knees, a piked over landing, feet sloppy, aka lots of deductions. It was not a good vault. That’s how you confuse the viewer when they see a low score, because the commentator said it was a good, maybe even a great routine. The American commentators are often seen as negative because they call out bad routines and explain where the deductions come from. I learned so much about what judges actually expect by listening to many different American commentators. BBC is the absolute best in showing us the WHOLE competition though. In America, you’re lucky to lay eyes on more than 8 gymnasts in a meet, whether it’s National or international. They stick with the front runners and that’s it. We never would’ve given camera time to the young lady from Algeria for example. So thank you BBC for that!
Shilese is an amazing gymnast! Her personality is just not overly smiley, instead she looks pleasant and composed. Don’t write her off because she’s not smiling. Thanks!
Oh my goodness! So ahead of her time! Especially with that side aerial loso, loso and the round off full. I liked that little kick turn she did. Unique. Always, Ty for the video and please continue this content 🤸
She deserved to win AA. The scoring was all over the map . But her BB, FL, and UB made up for difference in vault to Gabay . Far More difficult , better executed
Is it just me, or is the bounce on the floor more than what I usually see? Lots of the mistakes were gymnasts landing with a lot of power yet bouncing extremely far with the legs almost flailing
Here’s what the mathematical standings would’ve looked like had they all rotated together (based on the order of their apparatuses). Rotation 1: 1. China 2. Russia 3. Spain 4. Romania 5. USA 6. Ukraine Rotation 2: 1. China 2. Russia 3. Romania 4. USA 5. Spain 6. Ukraine Rotation 3: 1. Romania 2. China 3. Russia 4. Ukraine 5. Spain 6. USA Rotation 4: Obviously the final standings before China was disqualified
