Manny Roth, Cafe Wha? David Lee Roth's Uncle. David Lee would spend summer's there with his Uncle. I lived on Bleecker street Facing Jones St. in the 90's. That was my View out my Living Room window.
Thank you so much for this video. I love Bob Dylan's music but had no idea that he started out in the Village. I am a life long New Yorker and am trying to learn all I can about this City. Once again, thank you.
Great video! My brother, Guy, was friends with Bob and Suze, back then, even staying in the infamous 4th St. apartment a few times. They met Upstate, during Bob's first out of town gigs, at the San Remo Cafe, in Schenectady, and the Caffe Lena, in Saratoga Springs. hey hit it off and have kept in contact ever since. I remember when they used to come stay at our place. I loved watching and listening to him play in the living room. He gave me a harmonica, which I still have. We've corresponded a few times over the years, and I've always found him to be a kind, good man.
He was infatuated with Woody Guthrie. There was some influence there. But, Dylan really grew and came into his own between his first and second albums, 1962 to 1963. His identity was sealed. He was a lyricist/songwriter. I remember, at one of his concerts, Pete Seeger on stage and part of a group of singers, was visibly disappointed by Dylan's singing/playing because Seeger felt Dylan should be an activist.
6 years ago when I was 15 I would probably roast them for their "hairstyles" and "emo screamo sound/band" and blabla. I discovered this band last year and I have a lot of respect for them because they started a new trend in the metalcore scene, also those kids at their 15,16,17 years were very good and creative as musicians
This isn’t metal. This is late 00’s metalcore or melodic metalcore to be exact and late 00’s pop-post hardcore mixed with that electronica trance techo shit
Zimmerman, biggest mooch in the Village! All those who fed and housed hime, especially Suzy Rotolo wondered why he never reciprocated in the slightest!
