What helps one learn Greek is to have a Greek speaker to talk Greek to all the time but if you dont have that then it is extremely difficult. Some say you would have to go to Greece to learn Greek better but when I was there Greeks only talked to me in English because My Greek was not that good. I can speak it but with a limited vocabulary, so that was no help. Either you talk to them in Greek only or non at all (they dont care to help you), plus you have to have a very good memory or you are out of luck. These thing are something language teachers do not tell you.
This is folks what 30-40 years of demolishing education in Greece has brought about: for those who are Greek speakers it is evident that most of the youngsters here cannot articulate a concise thought or a clear meaning (I do not examine what is their opinion, that is irrelevant). The more mature responders (prolly in the 30+) are way more informed and able to convey a substantiated opinion.
ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ: Τα κυπριακά είναι διάλεκτος της ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗΣ ΓΛΩΣΣΑΣ και ΟΧΙ μία άλλη γλώσσα. Στην "Πύλη για την ελληνική γλώσσα" διαβάζουμε: Κυπριακή ονομάζεται η διάλεκτος της ελληνικής που ομιλείται στην Κύπρο με αρκετές παραλλαγές από τους ελληνοκυπρίους, καθώς και από τους τουρκοκυπρίους κατοίκους. Η κυπριακή εντάσσεται στα νοτιοανατολικά ιδιώματα της νεοελληνικής μαζί με αυτά των Δωδεκανήσων, της Χίου και ορισμένων νησιών των Κυκλάδων. [...] Η διαφοροποίηση στον λόγο των κατοίκων της Κύπρου φαίνεται να έχει τις ρίζες της αρκετούς αιώνες πριν. Ο Browning (1991, 171) αναφέρει ότι ο άραβας κυβερνήτης της Συρίας Μωαβιά καταλαμβάνει το νησί στα 647. Μετά από μια περίοδο αραβικής κατοχής, υπογράφεται μια συνθήκη μεταξύ της βυζαντινής κυβέρνησης και του Χαλιφάτου, σύμφωνα με την οποία η Κύπρος περιέρχεται στην κοινή επικυριαρχία και των δύο κρατών, τα οποία και διαμοιράζονται τον κοινό φόρο. Η συγκυριαρχία αυτή διαρκεί μέχρι το 965, οπότε η Κύπρος ενσωματώνεται πλήρως στη βυζαντινή αυτοκρατορία. Σε αυτούς τους αιώνες σχετικής απομόνωσης του νησιού (δηλαδή από τα μέσα του 7ου μέχρι τα μέσα του 10ου) ενδεχομένως να ξεκινά η γλωσσική διαφοροποίηση των Κυπρίων, σε σχέση πάντα με τους ομιλητές της ελληνικής που κατοικούσαν σε πιο κεντρικές περιοχές της βυζαντινής αυτοκρατορίας.
Μια διόρθωση φίλε μου (9:29): οι επίσημες γλώσσες τις κυπριακής δημοκρατίας, βάσει του συντάγματος, είναι μόνο δύο : Ελληνικά και τούρκικα ΟΧΙ αγγλικά.
As a Greek living in the diaspora, it is very sad to see modern Greeks so openly anti-Christian. Orthodox Christianity has a special relationship with the Greek people and language, the Bible was partly written in Greek and the Old Testament was translated almost perfectly from Hebrew to Ancient Greek when Palestine got hellenized. Unfortunately it seems as though the modern Greeks are being Americanized with liberalism, atheism, and all of the false new age religions. Western globalists have deracinated the Greeks from their Byzantine history by glorifying the Ancient Greek pagan religions and democratic ways of life. Modern Greeks embrace this thinking they are one step ahead of the curve, I live in the West, there is nothing progressive and good about liberal culture it’s disgusting and evil. No wonder the divorce rates, abortion in the West are through the roof and suicide is at an all time high. Nihilism, materialism and science based societies lack the light of Christ. Now America will export this culture to Greece, you can already see this with the recent legislation changes liberalizing marriage rights for you know who….Lord have mercy on Greece 🇬🇷☦️
So, jetzt mal Klartext! Griechenland ist Europa! Punkt! Wir brauchen nicht in der EU zu sein um uns als Europäer zu fühlen. Wir hatten Kultur, Demokratie, Zivilisation, als Nordeuropa noch in Höhlen hauste und Runen als Schrift benutzte. Also, Ruhe jetzt. 🇬🇷 Ist enttäuscht von einer politischen EU. D.h. aber nicht das wir uns nicht europäisch fühlen. Von 🇬🇷 ging die Zivilisation Europas Gen Norden.
Ευχαριστώ πολύ. Ήταν πολύ χρήσιμο και πολύ διασκεδαστικό. Στα δανέζικα το μικρό σουρωτήρι λέγεται “si” 😅 Το μεγάλο είναι άλλο πράγμα , Λέγεται “dørslag” Η σημασία είναι χτύπησα την πόρτα…. Δεν καταλαβαίνω γιατί αλλά έτσι είναι.😂

@@mayanlogos92 No ω at the beginning in any of those words. :/ I tried to use verbs and adjectives that also start with the corresponding letter (hence ωτορινολαρυγγολόγος, χαχα)
I thought vazo is just vase😂 but makes sense since we also put flowers in that😂... (LOL reminds me on how in most Romanic languages I know except my own the word for door & gate are both porta (the root s same) ... it's confusing at the start😂 but the context makes the whole difference, as always ;)
No - "Για να δούμε τη γνώμη τους" would make sense, it would mean "let's see their opinion". But "τι γνώμη έχουν" means "what their opinion is", literally "what opinion they have".

@@hamlet557 Φίλε, το σπαθί του προγόνου μου εκτίθεται σε μουσείο στην Ελλάδα, ο πατέρας μου όταν πήγε σχολείο τον έβαλαν να σηκωθεί στην τάξη να πει ότι ήταν τυχεροί που είχαν στο σχολείο τον απόγονο ενός ήρωα του 1821, το επίθετό μου είναι Βαρύ και η οικογένειά μου με δίδαξε ότι το αίμα που χύθηκε για την ελευθερία της πατρίδας δεν πρέπει ποτέ να ξεχαστεί, γι' αυτό ζύγισε τα λόγια σου προσεκτικά πριν τα αφήσεις να βγουν από τον υπόνομο
Σας ευχαριστώ για το βίντεο «Η ιστορία του Ορφέα και της Ευρυδίκης στα αργά ελληνικά». Τα πιο θερμά μου κομπλιμέντα. Έχετε καταβάλει μεγάλη προσπάθεια για να αντιμετωπίσετε αυτή τη διασκεδαστική και εκπαιδευτική παρουσίαση του μύθου. Το αγαπημένο μου μέρος είναι η σκηνή όπου ο Ορφέας σαγηνεύει την Ευρυδίκη (1-2 λεπτά από την αρχή). Τώρα, ξέρω πώς να παραπλανήσω μια Ελληνίδα, δηλαδή: “Γεια σου, κούκλα. Να κεράσω ένα ποτάκι;” “Ναι, αμέ.”
Παιδιά. Για τήν κατάντια τής Ελλάδος, φταίνε ή πολιτική, ναι! Αλλά φταίει καί ό λαός τής. Γιατί ψηφίζει από συμφέρον ατομικό καί όχι για όλους. Έτσι δεν πάει μπροστά μία χώρα. Θά θυμίσω τό τραγούδι τού Μιλιωκα: Γκρέκο μασκαρά. Αυτό τά λέει όλα.
