The crazy thing is that nature adds noise to things to improve results all the time. Your eyes are an example. The blood vessels supplying your retina lay infront of the receptors and so the image sent to your brain has partial obscuring. Yourbeye nuscles have a constant tiny jitter to them that shifts the image around allowing your brain the information from surrounding "frames" to fill in anything blocked. Its like content aware fill from photoshop but in real time with the added bonus of being attached to a machine learning system (neurons) that constantly connect and reconnect as new info is learned speeding up the predictive process based on prior experience. But the key is that introduction of noise that allows hidden parts of the view to fall onto key receptors.

If the goal is to determine the asymptotic stability of x_{k+1} = A x_{k}, can you not compute the eigenvalues of A (which is a simpler task)? Applying semi-definite programming here seems unnecessary?
