I have owned all the Japanese brands but there is nothing like my baby panigale 899 dam sexy comfortable enough power. I also own a Aprilia RSV4 that I’m putting for sale only bought it because it needed work n I could make some $ money on it not interested…. I’m Ducati man all the way . I know this is an old video but I was wondering exactly what the bottom left number was when you turn the bike on? After it fully cycles thru the number changes to the time. Also can you find out your pin from the pin menu? Thanks!
Utterly confuddled how you took out a 1200 Twin and didn't use anything of its best rev range +3/4000, you might as well driven a 125. Great bike, if you're going to use it's torque.
Seat was from Revzilla, I think it was called Biltwell it's in another video on here about mods I did. Sissy bar was a custom fabrication off of a standard ebay sportster bar.
Nice bike but slow. I have a bmw s1000rr. nowadays cars are getting faster and faster , kinda scared to ride this bike with no passing power. If I rev my bike like you doing I would flip the bike over.
Hair trigger Harley Davidson torque is perfectly suited for effortless overtaking, no need to drop a gear. The weight won’t see it flip over but that’s not really an ideal situation for most I’d imagine.
I‘m tempted to make a similar step from my thrusty 2004 Sportster Custom to an EVO Road King or Glide… Do a lot more 2up riding with my girlfriend now and the Sportster is even with new seat and sissybar not spacious enough 😢 Had always been a Sportster guy, but now it seems I have to make this step to these big behemoths 😇
The Sportster 72 doesn't need a 6 speed for two reasons. One, it's not a good design for riding faster than 80 mph without a windshield and with those forward controls, aggravated by a high bar. Two, because the Sportster engine is designed to run happily at higher revs than most Harley riders (including this video creator) are used to. The rider here is short shifting it every time. He wasn't in the meat of the power band even once. The bike is happiest above 3200 RPM so I don't even shift mine into 5th below 60-63 mph. I ride 50-60 mph state highways in 4th with plenty of response and roll on power on hand. Spinning it up is fine and spares wear and tear on the primary chain. Don't lug it then call it slow.
50 to 60 if you're just cruising then put it in 5Th, no reason to not to. If 50 in a business district where u stop and go more, then sure 4th. Cruising at high rpm for no reason is just wasting gas
My 72 turns about 3300 RPM at 60 in 4th. That's not "high RPM." The engine is just barely into its power band at 3300. It's torque peak is at 3500. At 60 in 4th you have major roll on power available. It's not a big twin. It revs happily and doesn't make good torque off the bottom. The old Sportsters only had 4 speeds and their top gearing was almost the same as 4th on the new 1200s. They ran 60 or 70 all day long. Gas mileage has no meaning to me. If it did, I'd drive a toyota.@@tylerfabish5578
You ride how you want and I'll ride how I want. The guy in this video is lugging it then saying it's slow. My 1200 turns <3300 at 60 in 4th. 200 RPM below the torque peak. That's not "revving" that's running. Y'all confuse Sportsters for tractors like Big Twins. They aren't. And mileage? Go buy a Honda Cub.. Learn to ride and you'll find the Sportsters are a lot of fun.@@tylerfabish5578

Arms stretched out add to structural rigidity of the direction, which may not be good for compensating irregularities of the road. The neutral position, which is arms a little bent, with the abs supporting the upper part of the body, increase control of the direction while allowing room for dampening of road irregularities.
Thanks you but I would have liked to see the specific buttons you push to run through setting and changes things. Even simple like clock and race mode etc.
I have a 2001 Fat Boy.Looks like it just came out the custom shop .covered in chrome ,special paint 11000 miles.Chrome everywhere.To think back in 2001 these bikes were just over £12000 .Now they are £22,000. Can't wait till winters over to get out on it.
Good review. Really nice to be taken for a ride on your bagger. It’s great to hear a long term review, after years of riding. Very down to earth. Lovely scenery too. I’m north of Sydney and have a 2007 Sportster Custom, which over the years I’ve turned into a mini-bagger, I love it but keen to one day get a Road King, for many of the reasons you mentioned. Keep doing reviews, and ride safe.
