I have the same exact ski and year - and I too have not added ANYTHING to it. No upgrade prop, ECU flash, nothing and it runs GREAT!! Still one of Yamaha's nicest color combinations out there.

I have the same identical ski - and I don't know about yours but my odometer is never accurate. I have a GPS mounted on my ski and its usually off by a difference of 10mph at high speeds. BTW - best ski I've ever owned.
if you think to getting a brand new, just wait 2 more weeks, new models are coming this month august, but if you plan to buy a used VXR the only model that's the same as the GP1800R HO is the VXR 19 the one I have ! Prior to 19 VXR it has different mats, the 19 has NannoXcell 2, upgrades on intake grate, ride plate and custom cut mats
only the name 😔 Yamaha shouldn't never change the name from VXR to GP1800R HO, the 19 VXR is the same as the 2020 GP1800R HO, it was easy to say VXR instead of GP1800R HO and GP1800R SVHO, a lot people are gonna get confused if they don't know how to recognize colors and models on each year
Nop ! They just change the name to GP1800R HO ! Just different name, VXR 19 is the same as GP1800R HO , the 18 is different, they did some upgrades on the 19 that the 15 vxr to 18 doesn't have it, the only upgrade on the 2020 was the name,
Looks fast 💨 I’m ready to buy my first ski been looking at this also the fxho and sho model. Wondering what’s the best for reliability etc. Also seadoo rxp230 I’m just bit sketchy about the whole supercharged thing I hear they need rebuilds etc. They blow up and costly all round. Think this is the model I want coming from motocross etc.
In my opinion and experience the 1.8 H.O are better in reliability , my VXR stock is faster than a FXHO because the FX is heavy, but more stable in the ocean, VXR is more playful, it turns aggressive , turns on a dime, I love it, my first jet ski was a seadoo and gave me a lot problems, My second machine was a Yamaha I had it for 2 years, never gave me a problem this VXR is my third jet ski a I love it , if you have family you should get a FX model, because is bigger, more storage, I'm don't have kids, for me this VXR is enough ! 👍🏼👍🏼 top speed 64 mph stock.
I want to do the ECU REFLASH only and probably remove factory air filter for Riva power filter , ride plate and intake grate is upgraded on the 19 and up,
Fredy Jetski addict yea I have a stage 1 on my 2015 vxr. Throttle feels a lot snappier oh and you will need new sponsons. With the added power your back end will slide out on hard turns
May I ask what's your top speed ? Is it stock? Where is your location ? I just got my about 3 weeks ago and my top speed is 56m - 59m it depends on the weather.
Is stock! My runs at 64 on GPS and my dashboard 62, 63 ! This machine is fast enough for me, I raced a FXSVHO the other day at the lake and it was like a 8 feets away from me only!
I don't think is worth it ! I get now 64 mph , if I put the ECU reflash from Riva I'm going to get like 3 mph more only! It cost 600 dollars just for the license plus the maptuner
oddomadic not that much, but is usable if you know how to used it, if you know when to use it , i used it a couple times when i made donuts on the water i put the trim down if you put the trim up and you go full throttle you really feel much power ! you have to get used too to use it
Thanks for the response. I’m trying to figure out which is the best model for me between the ho cruiser, vxr and fx ho. It would be nice to have the cruise and wake mode of the ho but I want to be able to turn aggressively as well and loosen up the handling of the ski by using the trim. Fx ho has both but its slightly bigger and heavier. I have seen someone add trim to their vx ho as a home project but it doesn’t show up on the dash when you make adjustments. Do you ever feel like you could use the cruise/wake or no?
oddomadic if you wanna have both cruise control and wake mode and trim get the FXHO cruiser it has the same engine but it’s a little more heavy but more stable, but the VX cruiser has the same speed as the VXR the VXR is more playful and aggressive when you make turns around if you know how to apply the trim , this year coming up the did some changes on the VXR is supposed to be better and a little more faster because they change the hull to nanoxcell 2 , ride plate and the intake grate, spend a little more money and get the FXHO or spend less and get the VX cruiser HO, i don’t really feel that i need the cruiser or wake mode, maybe if you wanna travel a long distances without stopping probably is a good idea to have it, otherwise no
Fredy Jetski adict yeah the 2019 vxr seems like an amazing ski but the colour is ugly imo. Yours looks way better lol. Maybe I’ll consider if they come out with more colours or I’ll go for an older model vxr or ho cruiser.
