Hello. How much amount of nitric acid is needed for 1 kg for silver jewellery (70% purity) and how much amount of distilled water is needed before adding copper plates?
Probably should have filtered after dissolving nitrate salt into the water prior to cooling. Also you would want to boil the water down to half volume, THEN cool it. Next decant off your liquid and boil THAT down to half volume and cool again. You’re wasting A LOT of your “pure crystals”.
Still waiting to see where you refine this to 99.999% fine. Your cemented silver is 95% pure max ... Your yield is contaminated. You cannot get even 99% pure, let alone 99.999% using this method.
Hi Phillip Bender, We really enjoyed your video and are going to embark on doing this process. By far the best & most thorough video on this subject! If it wouldn't be too much trouble could you please post a list of glassware and chemistry equipment you used? I got all the acids from the video, but I have to buy supplies and just want to buy bare essentials! Thanks again and looking forward to future videos! Cheers!
Same here! I was a laboratory professional for 35 years. We were never allowed to handle, pour or mix acids or alkaline solutions without wearing nitrile or thick rubber gloves, protective apron, face mask/respirator and face shield. Acid burns are not fun on any part of the skin or face.
Wow ,you must be super excited you should have gotten about less than half that. Now every body is going to think they can get 3/4 of an oz of gold out of 6 lbs of scrap and buy it a an inflated price i would not have paid 50-75$ a pound for that in a biding war but you did well.i would have expected 10to12 grams tops wow.that is one of the first time i seen someone turn a profit with accually getting paid for their hourly rate. High five bro,. I learned look for the old old computers
Why on Earth would you add nitric acid to hydrochloric acid (combined make mixture called aqua regia, that dissolves gold) at 18m06s, while there were still contaminants in the vessel? Shouldn't any metals other than gold be removed before dissolving gold, instead of being dissolved with it?
Hey, I'm curious as to what your profit was on this when you factor in the cost for chemicals and disposal fees and whatever you paid for the E-waste scrap. Also how much time do you think you invested in the process? Pretty awesome informative video!
