One of my problems is that I can't turn and then be ready to kick or punch in that moment. Maybe I pivot incorrectly to get the right stance so I can either kick ( may it be a front kick or a side kick) or punch. By turning/pivoting, I often lose my footing and stumble and fall.
@DanieleMaestrini it's a combination of proper rooting, turning on the ball of the foot, and turning on the correct leg or foot at the right time. There are some drills from Bagua that I touched briefly on in this video. I'll go more in depth next time so you can see it better. Those drills are a game changer!
Good one! I didn't even think of that. I like Blink 182 with that pop punk sound. I grew up on lots of classic metal and old school punk like The Ramones.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 Oh you yourself are responding here appreciate Evidently im new, sticking around 💪 Only some hardcore fan could think of it i suppose 😅 But like i like that you picked up on it
@claudiomargheri2087 Yes I respond myself. I don't use AI or have virtual assistants or any of that bullshit. I'm also a guitarist and have been rocking for over 40 years. In fact my very first video I ever did on my channel was of me messing around on my guitar!
@HypnoRiffsGuitar Thank you! I checked out some of your guitar videos. Pretty cool stuff! My first video i ever uploaded to my channel was of me messing around on my guitar.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 (someday I’ll fix my sound issues lol) but Martial arts is one of my passions, I’ve trained for many years, JKD Concepts, BJJ, Kali /Silat , Muay Thai, JunFan GungFu/Kickboxing , and started off with more Traditional Styles, I say this to back me up when I say you have great content and people would be wise to listen to you! 🙏
Thank you for explaining the efficiency of the twist and punch process. From now on I will train rigorously to perfect this fighting style. I just want to say that I really appreciate you taking us through these fighting moves. More of this please. If possible, please without weapons or knives, just using my fists, arms, elbows and of course legs.
@DanieleMaestrini Most of what I show is with empty hands. However weapons training is one of the best ways to improve the hands and legs. So I always show weapons occasionally, but the focus is on hands and legs.
@@inhometraineroakville1174I would like to learn the Wing Chun attack and defense training with my wife. This would improve my reaction, speed and increase the feel for the fight. The problem is that all the videos I have seen are ALL in normal tempo so I can't check how to do the moves correctly or practice with my wife. It would be fantastic if you could make a video (in slow motion) where I could learn these specific basic movements. Is it also possible to learn these movements without a wooden dummy, or another person? I mean on my own!
@@DanieleMaestrini You can learn the motions, but unless you have a partner or a wooden dummy, you won't be able to get feedback for correct energy. Learning elbow structure and forward energy is crucial.
Another brillant video. Thank you very much. Just a small point. When you throw a punch you are twisting your lower arm and wrist at the same time. When you show us this movement you do it so quickly that i can't quiet check it. Would it be possible if you could also do the fist and arm movement slower so that i also can understand it better?
hey you're in my city! but yea this is great advice, I tell people this stuff all the time but they never even try to change. its easier to just complain about crime than to work to make your self a difficult target.
@CarlosRivera-ez6pw Very true. I live in Toronto which has many of the same issues as NYC. People are just clueless. I could easily mug half the people I see walking around. They're just completely unaware. By the way, I love visiting NYC. It's a great town!
Хождение по кругу хорошо разобрано, но оторвано от практики его применения. Фрагмент демонстрации прикладной техники не связан с хождением по кругу. А так, в целом - красиво.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 Walking in a circle is well understood, but divorced from the practice of its application. The fragment of the demonstration of applied technology is not related to walking in a circle. And so, in general, it is beautiful.

Thanks for another great combat Saturday video still grateful for when you addressed my question regarding shifting may I be so bold as to make another request would you give your take on what to concentrate on regarding the spine when performing different Wing Chun activities
@jarrodpelrine7229 Sure! I'll do that subject also. There is a limitless number of topics to cover and sometimes I'm not sure what to do. Feel free anytime to make requests.
No offense intended, nor am I dismissing the intention in totality, I am confused. An "internal art" where "internal isn't an art" because "any art can be internal". Then, "compressing, expanding and rotating" is "internal". Then, "changing heights" and that's supposed to connect to "internal"? how? Now, I am sure there is some points in there that I in particular can learn, but it just isn't resonating for me. Sorry. it just seems to me that the word "internal" is a unique tag to establish a mindset to generate power and impact. Core strength, momentum and koshi saves a lot of time in making similar points.
@markwoolfson7379 It's just my way of simplifying things. I don't actually like the word " internal" or "soft" as they're used in martial arts, but many people do use them. Therefore I have to explain it in those terms. It's true that developing core strength, whole body power, and correct breathing will develop internal power if that's the term you want to use.
@@inhometraineroakville1174 My terms were stated in my previous reply. "Internal power" is relative to each practitioner. I am unsure, but focusing on the outcome of said "internal power" and then working backwards to technique would help me. Thanks!
The trunk is actually PVC pipe. Traditionally it's made of wood, but I needed something more easily portable. I have a wooden one outside in my backyard.
I'm an older guy thinking of trying wing chun. Where did you get your Dummy? I'd to get one for my home practice here in Nova Scotia. Also, is your dummy made with a PVC pipe?
I've no idea how your channel came up as a suggestion but consider me a subscriber. You're movement when demonstrating Wing Chun is so fluid and natural. This is what I'm aiming for when teaching students not to be stiff and rigid. Thankyou for sharing 🙏
@bogwoppit792 Thank you for your kind words and thanks for subscribing. One of the reasons for my fluidity is the fact that I learned Boxing as my first martial art. I love the flow and footwork of Boxing. When I learned Wing Chun later on, it filled in the gaps in Boxing. Now the way I see it, they are inseparable. I see them as two parts of a whole, and that's the way I teach it. I saw some of your videos as well. Good stuff!
@@inhometraineroakville1174 Thankyou. A lot of my stuff was before and during the covid lockdown when we was allowed to go get some fresh air. I was training a lot of the forms back then and since then I've been working on being relaxed and fluid, rather than looking Wing Chun. Your channel should be way bigger than it is. You're content is grounded and articulate for a western audience. No mystical woo woo talk 👌🙏🤝🙂
@@inhometraineroakville1174 p.s I agree about Wing Chun and Western Boxing as being inseparable. This is why I'm learning to be more fluid with the footwork and power delivery. I invested in a heavy bag not that long back, and can already feel the improvements
