Do you get the same break apart on the 350s? Would be interesting to see what fps/fpe for 290 gr is doing in the Texan. Also, how did the rest of the grouping go? Got to see sped up shots, but no results. I know my LSS loves the NSA 350s, and AV 405/410 gr. All I've tried in it so far, such a great platform. Excellent video, Steven! ~Papa T
I use a laser thermometer on lead and mold heat . Also I wash mold with dish soap and sponge before first use. Mold temp is key to smooth bullets lead temp is key as well. If I don't use the laser thermometer I get perfect rounds after first few frosts.
It's easy stuff to do. Treat procces with regards as it is to extreme heat and toxic fumes. I cold water quench 340 and 450 grain flat point. Interesting idea with lube in quench. The cold water quench holds its form in stack of books the unquenched deform and mash up. The cold water quench acts as a hard cast to extent of target medium. They shoot flawlessly in texan 457.
I just got a Texan LSS in .510 and holy crap , that is powerful AF . It's gone straight through every target that I have . It's crazy how powerful it is.
NSA ammo is the best. Just bought 6 more boxes of 22 slugs to feed my M60B! Also his packing and shipping of the ammo is second to none and it arrives in a couple of days. Your's is shooting great and nice shooting!😊
Some consistency in those shots, also an insane amount of power for squirrels. You could hit their backend and I think you'd still pass thru and come out the head. 😮
Nice shooting. That thing sure was stacking. I used to use NSA, but I moved on to boattails. He does indeed make quality ammo, but for me I looking for the highest bc small bore ammo, and that seems to be Griffins. Only I'd NSA made a small bore boattail I would still be using his, but Ben makes phenomenal ammo, and he has great customer service. With a boattail, you can pick up anywhere from 10-30 fps with the same weight projectile as a flat nose or dish base and higher ballistic coefficients. That's why I love em so much. Anyway, I love the content and keep on slinging, brother.
I don't know anything about that, but i do know he got the business from a friend, and I know his ammo is of great quality and weight consistency. I've been using it for 4 years and don't see a need to stop unless he stops making them. 🔫🎯👌🏽
@@TheFowlerAirgunChannel In another video of yours you can achieve 850 fps unregulated is that right ? Thats enough of power for basic self defense for my country i think .Thanks for answering my friend
2 ways to set your regulator.. Select a pellet that you want to use.. Method #1 is the 95% rule.. (Diabolo type pellets work best under 900 fps - 880 fps is the magic number 930 x 95% = 883 fps).. Turn the hammer to its highest setting and shoot and adjust the regulator until you reach 925-930 fps. Now turn the hammer down until you reach 880-885 fps.. you are done. Method #2.. Select your pellet, and turn your hammer all the way down until it is only 1 to 1.5 turns out. Shoot and adjust your regulator until you reach 880-885 fps. You are done. (make sure you are on the high side of the bell curve).. 2700 psi and 1500 psi can shoot the same velocity with no hammer adjustment, you want to be on the higher psi side.. You do not want your regulator set at 1400 vs 2000 for the same velocity. Your regulator will be more efficient with the higher setting and also give you more flexibility with your hammer adjustments. You really don't want to be below 1700-1800 for best overall performance.. Probably 2000-2400 psi will work nicely.. The reason that you don't want lower pressure is because you can over hammer the output valve and this will dump all the air out of the plenum and may allow air from the main tank to sneak by and being wasted.. You only want the hammer to dump part of the air that is stored in the plenum, this is more precise metering and also the air left behind helps to close the valve making things more efficient..
