Great video! Much appreciated! I served in VMAQ-2 85-92. I have 1 monogram, 3 MPC, and at least 12 of the various boxings of the Kinetic kits. Goal is to build a kind of visual history of Marine prowlers from standup to deactivation… plus a couple other prowlers (Navy) that had special marking schemes and one or two one of projects just for me… Semper Fi!!!!!
No. The panel lines are too thick and the raised tape is a deal breaker for me. Sorry. Italeri need to step up it's game if they want to compete in the real world. The quality of there kits are just crap. I just throw them away after trying to assemble them only to find out they are sub par at best. I stopped buying there kits a long time ago. But, great review and thank you.
Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I simply do not feel the same way. It's a great kit and much better than Italeri's previous releases.
@@weablewabble There isn't anything to compare. Two completely different companies with two different variants of the same aircraft. Tamiya having a new kit isn't going to change the fact Italeri has a nice kit of the F-35B. Honestly, there is literally nothing that will change my opinion of Italeri's kit.
I can only hope somebody brings out a decal set for all the RAM-tape markings, as there is no way I would have the patience to mask and paint all that…
We're going to be releasing dedicated data decal sheets that will cover all of the ordnance available in our line. It is quite simply more cost effective to do it that way.
IIRC the F-35B can't carry 2000lb bombs because the weapons bay size and overweight problems from the design. So the one in the kit 'should' have been a GBU-32 and not a GBU-31, but as you said it doesn't like either anyways.
@@flyingleathernecksdecals3491 Mind some added questions? Is the LAU-151 universal or does the ASRAAM have it's own, proprietary, launcher? Can Meteor be fitted to the door stations? Does anyone do Paveway IV? Did they finally qualify the BRU-61 in the bays or is there still a plumbing/clearance issue? The GBU-53 is a couple inches shorter... Any chance of you doing a ~45` angled nozzle to make the jet look correct for a STO? How about a pilot with the correct helmet? Does the Red Fox Kittyhawk decal set fit with this kit's cockpit? Thanks for the review.
@@xyz-hj6ul I have no idea as I'm not that familiar with the LAU-151. I have no knowledge of the Meteor and do not know. Paveway IV, not that I'm aware of. BRU-61 is not a Marine Corps item, so I don't know. Yes, we will be looking at doing a correct nozzle in the VSTOL position. I'll leave pilots to Norbert over at Reedoak. I don't use 3D cockpit sets from Red Fox/Quinta, so I can't answer that question either.
Thanks for the review! I was sceptical, but now I will get it. One thing regarding the font size- this is not the fault of Cartograf, but from the supplier of the decal design. In this case most probably Italeri, if they didn't outsource the design.
Dave, I noteced a bit of lag with the video, but got a clear understanding of the operation. Really good coverage and demonstration. 15-20 minutes is long enough to share information without losing your audience. Good job so far. Looking forward to watching the series. Oh, yeah: Happy Birthday! :)
I had this video going while I was working on my own project. Sort of like a Saturday club build. Make ‘Em as long as you want! You really did put your finger on the key point - do what’s easiest for you. Don’t get yourself into a situation where you’re using up a lot of time editing - that’s not what you want.
Hello quick question, i am working on my 1/32 Hornet and I’m using your Hornet Swarm sheet. Im trying to figure out the seat in the Hornet used by VMFA-232. From my reference photos I’m seeing I cant tell if its an SJU 5/6 or a 17. Thanks
Pictures are pretty clear. Good breakdown. Remember, Hasegawa's later Delta Hornet kits included sprue M with the swept comms antennae, GPS dome, bird slicers, centreline pylon and dual chaff buckets. The comms antennae are very thick and the bird slicers are too short though. Will check out part 2 later
