Vlog was so so, I find it interesting that almost all Ginzan vloggers pass and show that statue with the loin cloth and no info is ever provided about it. It so happens that you stayed there, at least you provided the name of inn, WOW but. No real info on the place , ie is there a bath , whats the statue about? At least the food was presented as satisfactory even if a small serving was on too big a dish. Oh plzzz
Thank you for your comment! The ornament you mentioned is a Shigaraki ware raccoon figurine. It is considered a good luck charm. Although it is a landmark of the inn, similar ornaments can be found in other areas. I guess Japanese people are so used to seeing these ornaments that they often pass by without noticing them. lol The Showakan, where I stayed, has a large hot spring bath, so the rooms do not have a private bath. To enjoy the hot spring, you need to go to the shared bath. Reservations for each inn begin 3-4 months in advance. However, these reservations tend to fill up quickly, so checking early is a good idea. Hope this helps🙂
