Good on you for giving it a go yourself, it turned out looking good. One suggestion would be to get a bilge pump into it... if it gets a bit rough and you take some water over the side or get caught in a storm that can make the difference between being a bit uncomfortable, and swimming home.
Yes definitely need one for safety! We did put one in, we may not have shown it in the video but it has a brand new one and a new outlet in the side on the starboard side at the back. The switch is wired into the control panel.
Great job,the only thing I would do differently is finding a way to not use bolts because the plywood is not flush on the rest of the frame while sitting on bolts
Because we usually have the four of us in the boat we wanted storage under the floor to put things out of the way. Our tinny is also really stable when standing and moving about, having the floor higher doesn’t make too much difference to balance.
Thankyou for this. I am about to embark on a tinnie resto. I currently am building a wooden kyack, but the more i work on it the more i realize getting a tinnie and modifying would he quicker and cheaper. Great work.
That’s so cool! Kayak would be heaps of fun to make. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Either way, it’s so satisfying knowing you’ve done it yourself.
You spend all that time catching them but you not showing most important part the cooking and eating them because that's the reason why you catch them is to cook and eat them you spending 1-2 minutes maybe showing how to cook and eat them for me l like watching the catching the cooking and especially the eating because I get to see what im missing so the more you do of that more popular you'll become
Nah no crocs there and the water was so clear you’d see them if there was one that had made its way down that far. It was also wrong time of year to be worried about jellies on the west. Xmas holidays is when people usually get done, when the water has warmed up.
Hi there cool video, I'm currently looking around at a 270 for the GU I just picked up. Yeah the Bushwakka looks good and having that extra coverage up past the passenger window is definitely the go 👌 Haven't checked out other videos yet, how did it perform after the Cape trip?
Hey! Thanks for watching 😊 it held up so good up the Cape for three weeks straight. Definitely need that extra coverage up the front and the built in lights were used most nights to cook with. We had the swag under it if it was a cloudy/rainy night and it provided good protection from the rain. We recently used it at Fraser in 30knot wind and it held up so well, especially with the heavy duty brackets. Enjoy setting the big GU up!!
We use Happy Moments for bIt, they're oily and everything from Snapper to trevally will take a strip bait. I used to throw them back but pliers to hold the head and a knife long enough to keep your hands clear of the spines when whipping off the fillets.
Can’t give away our specific marks 🤐🤣 but if you look on bathy maps you should see some descent spots around just off Mooloolaba, where you can get some descent fish. Just look for some deeper spots 😉. Good luck!!
I found that the 3rd row seat belt bolts/brackets were stopping mine going all the way down as well. I tested it by removing the bolts and it fits as it should. I think you may be seeing the same problem.
Thanks for watching!! It’s so much fun taking the kids out and seeing them reel in the good fish. We usually only go 20mins out, we’ve been to the FAD on a good day and out to the reefs off 1770 with the kids but only in good weather.
Nice work people. Ive done it as have lots of humans. It’s different every year and that’s what I’ve noticed from your footage. Can’t wait to do it again….
I think that’s what makes it so much fun. Even looking at footage of people going through now, it looks changed again. Definitely can’t wait to go back!
Yeah nice! I saw a video of palm creek exit the other day and it looked so different to when we were there 2 months ago. Amazing how much it changes with all the cars chopping it out. We were also careful as we had to get home
Thanks! Bramwell roadhouse has fuel so we filled up there and took a 20l jerry which we never used. We came out halfway and came back to roadhouse to meet friends and filled up again before doing the northern end.
@@Swooned1 you’ll love it and the Y62 is soo comfy to travel in. We noticed an increase in fuel consumption and drop in power with 91 but only minimally. No other issues like you hear others have.. eg the knocking. I think we were at 37L/100km on the OTT 🤣
