Brother Ismail is from the UK and was brought up in the suburbs of Epsom, Surrey. He accepted Islam in 1991 while at school at the age of 14 after seeing a few Muslim students praying in a classroom.
After accepting Islam he began to learn this deen by attending regular classes and seminars of visiting major scholars to the UK. In 1994 at the age of 17 he moved to the Emirates.
He has a BA in Islamic studies (Usool ad Deen) , Ajman, UAE and also has a MA in Dawah and Usool ad Deen. He also learns from Sheikh Aziz bin Farhan Al Anizi and other mashaiykh in the UAE.
He has his own weekly Islamic chat show 'Guest of the Week' on Sharjah TV. Currently he works for Dar Al Ber society as Head of Dawah for the Islamic Information Centre, Dubai.
I'm a revert... I can't obey my parents. They threw me from the family, but I try to speak to those I have contact details for (they also didn't have contact with a lot of the family because they are narcissists and nobody wanted to deal with them). I speak to my grandparents and have a good long distance relationship with them, but my parents are very difficult to cope with. They harm me and my children whenever we try to be around them, then we have a cooling off period and then I try again... My mother never stops trying to destroy my life and my kids. They were not good parents anyway and I ended up with cptsd... I won't go into details about it because I will be censored. As to what they do now... We'll if we visit them they immediately take out alcohol and turned on music. They give our kids chocolate which contains alcohol, we caught them trying to give my 4 month old baby wine... They know our rules. They have ppl come who have forcely taken my hijab and they have spiked my drink and poured pork fat on my food. So we don't go to visit them. When they come to us they have stolen important paperwork (bank letters) to try to hack my accounts and because of this police were involved (we didn't know it was them) and now all my accounts have huge amounts of security and I have to go through lots more checks to get contracts like phone etc. They didn't this to watch and control my life. My mother has put letters from men hide around the house for my husband to find, she doesn't like him because he isn't "white" enough. They have brought alcohol into my home. Mum went to fight with my husband and undermine him with my kids, she says my kids aren't allowed to listen to him they have to listen to her... When we say no she says that's disrespectful. She has told me that not removing my hijab and not taking modest clothes and not eating haram is disobedience... Loads more, my husband banned my mum from the house because of the problems she was causing... But that's no problem she only comes when she's bored and wants to upset us... Which isn't as often as you think. We did try to rebuild the relationship, but she just tries different tactics to try to split us up and take our children... She doesn't actually like them she says they're "black"... She just doesn't want them to be Muslims. So I text them occasionally and am polite and respectful but I keep it short with them for my safety and my family safety (they have ppl follow us and watch us... This isn't out of love FYI remember cptsd)
