I would say from his numerous interviews that it may be some resentment with Denzel, he defintely bigs his mother up but he never says anything about his Dad to not downplay him. Obviously he gets asked about his Father the most because he is known but He only ever mentions Paula
Interesting how he made a point of Ms. Shahidi being a great representative for black women, Rodriguez had to interrupt and say “women, all women”… but then proceeds to only speak of representation for Latino women…WHAT ABOUT ALL WOMEN MS. My kids are German, African American and Iranian so for us yara is very refreshing to see and a mixed representation for my daughters. There’s room for everyone 🙂
I liked the way the interviewer looked her in the eye and doubled down on Black representation. Wasn't about to let Gina "All Lives Matter" his statement. Great job.

I've seen responses were some people on another occasion felt that he was upset with his dad because he kinda carried his interview the very same way, but to me, I beg the differ, to me, that's just a sons love for his mother. That said. I don't think it's no malicious feelings towards his dad🙏🏽. I have 8 sons, and they're all like that about their mom, and their moms worked a job. I've always had businesses, so i took care of the lions' share as a man should have but mom did the nourishment and loving and caring part to where the material things i bought for them wore out but that mothers love can never go away. Nothing can take the place of a sons first real woman. That's what most of us momma boys do is chase that type of women like our mom, and most girls are the same way too, looking for a man like their dad, their first man, RESPECTFULLY. 🤷🏾♂️
