Dad was on the Perth during his time in the RAN, a PO/CPO Victualler. Went on a couple of open days at sea, as a kid. Said the only ship he enjoyed being on more was the Moresby.

this brings back such fond memories and some sad ones. Hubby was chief Tiff when she paid off. You can just spot both of us at 4.03 t0 4.05. That was long before this ship paid off. They did an Australian Story too on her final voyage. Called Last of the Steam Demons. Some of you may remember "Herbie" Hampson :-) <3

She was a true warship, as an ex serving member of HMAS Perth, it was a sad day when she went to rest on the bottom. I will always have those memories of serving on her. I joined her straight from cat training as a UC back in 1984
