Formed in Auckland in the 90s by club owner and band leader Ozzy Retzlaf, Le La Oso burst onto the Samoan music scene with popular covers and original compositions. Fronted by the iconic To'oala Eteru, whose distinct vocals became the band's hallmark, they ushered in a new era of Samoan music.
Their fusion of drum machines, keyboards, and guitars set a precedent still embraced by many Samoan bands today. Le La Oso's influence continues to inspire generations of Samoan musicians.
