Hello, everyone and welcome to the T.T.F.T. channel, where I aim to upload videos at least once a week. I review Train Sim World 4 or Train Simulator (classic) DLC - with no commercial connection to Dovetail Games - complemented by the occasional real-life railfanning video from here in New Zealand, as well as original or adapted Thomas The Tank Engine stories (using Trainz 2019). Sometimes I also make RU-vid Poops or other silly meme videos.
My favourite episode of Thomas The Tank Engine is Season 5 - Episode 2 'Horrid Lorry', and my favourite Railway Series book is No. 19 'Mountain Engines'.
(If anyone's curious, my favourite locomotive classes are as follows): Steam - New Zealand Railways JA class 4-8-2 Diesel - NZR/KiwiRail DC class Electric - NZR/KiwiRail EF class
I'll agree, this line is somewhat shorter and less "repeatable" than other routes, you could probably get away with "Permanent-Way" trains on this route as well. I only got this route because of another route I wanted that required assets from this route, otherwise, it's just been sitting in my library not really being utilised. Great vid, always good that. 👍
Thanks for visiting the van you saw coming back into Southern Cross. It was a power van for long-distance services operated by the loco hualed services. I can not spell clearly
Great video! I have been umm-ing and arr-ing over whether to purchase any TSW games for a while but your vids have convinced me. And the fact that you mentioned the masterpiece that is Telegraph Road makes us best friends! 😂
One of the most beautiful videos I've seen, shame it's pissing it down. I lived in Stoneleigh, Surrey, on the Mole Valley line, when I was 4, and the evocative sound of 2EPBS, 4SUBS, 4EPBS and 508s was the soundtrack to my early childhood. Thanks for the memories.
The thing is, they need routes to be boring and have shitty replay value so people will buy more routes 😂 Business is business. What's the use of selling a 80 mile route for 1/3 higher price than a 30 mile one? Planned obsolescence
Thank you for an interesting video. I remember the Wellington trams quite well. I was born in the early 1950s and lived in Broadway near the Seatoun tunnel. I was about four years old when my mum took me on a tram through the tunnel and back, I don’t know where we went after that. I also managed to jump on the last tram a couple of hundred yards before it went into the shed. I have been to the Wellington tramway museum years ago and enjoyed the visit, although I find it strange being on a tram in a park. They should be surrounded by streets and buildings! All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Big NS nerd here. Just to clarify some things: -The bell continuing to ring briefly after blowing the horn is prototypical for the majority of engines NS uses. It's a function they're very fond of. -The windshields being angled outward is a feature of the "admiral" cab, a modernized cab design that NS uses on a number of upgraded or rebuilt second and third gen EMD models, including SD40s and GP38s. -You're right that the horn is a K5LA. One of my personal favorites. It's used very extensively by both NS and CSX. On another note, I wish NS would get a bit more love in TSW. There are a lot of lines from N&W and Southern that could be adapted for the game, and no shortage of interesting and unique engines from over the years to run on them. But, Dovetail seems to be obsessed with everything in stupid fucking California, so I doubt it'll happen.
Nice review but a bit of an oversight not to mention that this is the first (and still only) route/train in TS Classic to feature ATO (automatic train operation). The train can drive itself around the entire loop simply by pressing the ATO button in-cab, after the doors are closed at each station.
If I were to play this with the DC I'd wanna run the locomotive the way MAXX did for Auckland passenger service about 10ish years ago, high throttle "rolling coal" out of half the stations. 😂😂
Just in the latest Auckland Transport Board Monthly meeting notes that the next batch of 23 AMs being built, in Mexico unlike the first two batches, will start arriving in July, and the expansion of the Wiri depot is in progress.
7:17 Hard disagree here Im afraid. The Signal EP is fantastic. Massively improves the way signals operate: slower changing aspects on older signals, bulb cycles going from red thru yellows to green, feather before aspect change, variants of approach control, delayed return to danger to avoid seeing the red appear in the side of the cab as you pass, tools for scenario creation to force certain behaviours (app cont type or forced aspect). - I think a lot of target market focuses on modern image, hence why stock like the Deltic is probably still missing an EP - its a bit too niche. Vegitation/Sky/Signal packs apply almost 'globally' to all supported routes whereas a earlier-gen Southern EMU or something like a Deltic has more limited use. - I think the 37 pack is in 2 volumes because of the sheer amount of subclass and livery combinations. Those who drive and scenario build for modern era only can probably get away with only owning the refurbished pack. AP is expensive, its the premium of the hobby and Train Simulator is a relatively niche game (especially TS Classic now that TSW caters for newer/more casual fans/enthusiasts). If I don't think something is value for money, I simply don't buy it - but from what I have bought (Track EP, Sig EP and 12 other packs for locos/stock) I've got great satisfaction. Bear in mind an alternative hobby is physical railway modelling / model railroading where ONE singular loco in ONE fixed livery sets you back a minimum of 100 pounds in the most popular scale. I dabble in that too and Train Sim is budget friendly by comparison.
this is why i fully quit buying dlc for those games its always over priced and what do you get in complete routes two trains if your lucky and so much reusing and we get forget DTG selling stuff "separately" and slaping on a outrages price am honestly dun whit DTG and them always putting there dirty fingers in my wallet like seriously why cant they just do it RIGHT and listen to the community
