Don’t get me wrong I love Tip Top #1 , but all those characters have appeared on other platforms. Tarzan will always be a pulp character, Lil Abner appeared in strips for years. Thats why most platinum comics just don’t hold that appeal. Gerber photo journals are amazing. I have spent many an hour starring at those wonderful covers.
How about Conan #1? or Tip Top 173? These characters appeared in the strips or pulps long before the comic appearances. Many popular character made their 1st appearances outside of comics but we still value their 1st comic book appearance.
For Doll Man, it looks like the last time the character was used, significantly, by DC was for the two issues of "Convergence: Plastic Man and the Freedom Fighters" in 2015.
Please don’t put any attention on Boy Comics. I absolutely love that title and I am actively trying to acquire them ( especially under issue 50) where the covers are FANTASTIC and I don’t want any more competition. I just acquired #25 yesterday with a detached cover for $130 but a nice looking cover/ book overall. I haven’t actually received it yet. I noticed you preview your acquisitions last week and you had a Boy Slab Hot 🔥 foot 🦶 issue that I believe you purchased from Brixco.
I agree on the undervaluing of restored books -- specifically and especially Golden Age books. Great opportunities to add amazing books to your collection for a fraction of the cost!
I have been watching your videos and total enjoy the focus on the golden age. Completely agree on the restored books but feel the market is catching on fast. Regarding the golden age books - i'm afraid demographics are going against us but will continue to collect and appreciate.

I know this video is old - but I really enjoyed your Disney Comic & Stories section. I only collect Comics & Stories under issue 100 for covers I like. I don’t even want to start with the Four Color. I like to set collecting limits in an attempt to control expenses. I had a couple of the keys 🔑 you highlighted.
I just bought my first Exciting Comics (issue 31) a couple days ago. It has a very cool Black Terror war cover I paid $150 and it has an interior coupon cut out/incomplete. It has the war bond emblem on the cover and I love books with that emblem.
Love Fritzie, Ritz been picking up Fritze, Ritz, and Nancy books and now actually have a tip top comics that’s a cool ocean cover but still has all the funnies inside
It's surprising to me that Betty Boop appeared so late in terms of floppy comics, especially since other Fleisher characters like Popeye and Felix had so many popular comics.
Ok here’s a question I was thinking of asking a split second before you showed that Cherry art (great by the way). But I’ve been trying to sell a Cherry Poptart 1 comic on eBay and it keeps getting rejected. Maybe one of your viewers can tell me how/what category it won’t get rejected in. I see other issues of the series listed all the time.
Do you happen to have a really nice copy of DC 100-Page Super Spectacular #4 (which is actually the first issue)? It's my fave Wrightson cover of all time, but tough to find in minty condition. My copie's a VG. Great show, by the way. And like you, I am a massive Warren fan and collector.
Hi Allen, thanks for granting my request to see some of your Warren collection I didn't know it was so vast. More videos on it would be great especially FMOF. I am 73 now and it was very nostalgic to see them. I am in the UK and when I was around 12 years old I would eagerly await each month to see what my local newsagents had delivered to them from the USA. They didn't order anything particular it was just mixed bundles of magazines like FMOF and Spacemen which came over by ship as ballast.
I use CLZ Comic Collector for cataloging my collection. I would love to be able to download eBay purchases, too! I started a spreadsheet for online purchases last year so I could properly report online sales tax on my federal income tax.
I agree with you about the alien being a letdown on the cover of the magazine. Especially since it’s a straight-on view where you can’t see the iconic Gigeresque elongated head and its tail looks more like a breathing hose on a spacesuit or something.
On your July 29 livestream you showed a purple label Phantom Lady, why did it receive a purple label? While in Korea, did you ever dabble in manhwa and have you ever been tempted to start collecting manga or manhwa? Thanks again as always for answering my questions.

Okay, question: What are your thoughts on cleaning and pressing - such as ink removal since you mentioned your XM1 with pen - about the integrity for 3rd party grading? Should books be left “as is”? Or if cleaned, receive a “restored” or “conserved” grade? Value your thoughts on this. Thank you again appreciate the time.
Toad was a thoroughly unlikeable character in the comics. If you like him because he was in a movie, and can't remember Mastermind from the Dark Phoenix Saga, you collect money, not comics.
On your America's Best Comics the third character isn't Samson, it's Doc Strange. Samson was a Fox Comics character--part of "The Big Three" along with The Flame and the original Blue Beetle.
That Betty Boop was eye catching, can't get that one at a decent price, but because of a spine tick on the cover the topless variant is going cheap, not sure whether to pull the trigger or not? I pulled the trigger they made me an offer! Sent you an IG.
I have a lot of those Boris the Bear 🐻- but not all of them. I like them. They are all parody covers. I got most of them for $3. I had to check if I had #6 - and I Do. 🎉
