I live in Laredo and I like making movies. I also like to animate and draw. I want to make a career out of animation and filmmaking. All I need is money and exposure.
This film, and more specifically this scene and the isn't everything amazing? scene have fundamentally changed the way I think about life. I stumbled on this when I was 11, it creeped me out after 10 minutes but I always had a faint memory of it after that. Fast forward to me being in and out of hospital in my 20s, struggling with all sorts of demons. I sit there and trawl through torrent sites and instantly I recognised this. I watched it fully, *bawled* my eyes out, and it explained everything to me. From this film I literally found myself. Everything I had ever needed explained to me. It gave me hope, and four years on from first watching it I still have quotes go through my head daily. I even have a Bill tattoo on my arm, I'll never forget this masterpiece
I LOVE star wars. But i can't call myself a fan because of the fandoms behaviour. Ive been harassed and threatened by overweight basement dwellers for being visibly trans and in a star wars group. I was born in 98, i grew up with the prequels, the OG clone wars shorts. The clone wars in general. I have my criticisms of the sequels, but its mostly from a script/filmmaking perspective. I did like Rogue One though
There is no justification for the “fans” behavior. They bullied a kid and a man to the point where one had severe mental issues and the other one wanted to kill himself. You’re not the heroes you think you are.

I was browsing Reddit and came across this question: “What did Bill mean by ‘it smells like dust and moonlight’?” Honestly, as simple as it sounds, it’s actually pretty deep. Despite how much he might have pondered this moment his whole life, and how death was on his mind every day, making him feel suffocated by the unknown, there’s something profound here. Even though Bill might have thought about eternity (after all, you just get old), he’s aware of the paradox of thinking about immortality while trapped in a fragile body that’s falling apart. His brain, capable of contemplating its own eternity, is biologically stuck in a body that will eventually dissolve. So, it smells like dust and moonlight because that’s what he was feeling at that moment-death was just that. It was simple, no depth or mystery. The dust from the hospital bed, the medicine cabinet, and the onset of night with the sun setting made the air feel heavier. Even though he’d prepared for this day his whole life, he finally realized that death was simple and could be summed up by dust and moonlight-things he was familiar with. No mystery there. It’s a masterpiece.
Wait a moment, I just realised something. You are using this argument to say the Acolyte show (and other recent disney Star Wars media) failed because the hardcore fans didn't like it? Even though it was obviously caused by incompetent writers who WANT to turn this show into political agenda? And if I don't accept it, It means I'm a right winger or an annoying fan? Lame. Great job, and this parody is still relevant even today Honestly, it's the growth of the bad eggs who cannot move on is the reason why I feel that some pieces of art is impossible to separate from the fanbase Star wars, and spongebob are prime examples of this in my opinion
Leia was probably raised to handle threats like the Empire, and to deal with negotiations, as long as combat skill throughout her life. Rey just became skilled, and then took the Skywalker name. These were my only problems with this video, besides those this does a great job portraying the big issues with the Star Wars fandom. I enjoy watching all the trilogies (while in chronological order, not sure why watching them like that is such a big deal but anyway,) but its just a fact that the sequel trilogy is the worst written out of all the films.
I really liked the feminist style in the original films since it felt real and achievable! the sequel trilogy films had the “she’s mastered this craft in 2 seconds” type of feminist style that I knew was sus considering we were SHOWN how hard it is to become a great Jedi. It’s the reason I look up to Padmé, Rose, and Ashoka more than I do Rey.

i feel like the video was a gross over-simplification about fans since people who dont like the st arent necessarily toxic and all that . heres a bestiary- toxic: sequel fans(people who think the sequels are the best movies ever and anyone who doesnt like it are racist sexist monsters. basically people who use buzzwords to argue their point), ot fanatics(people who only like the ot and get pissed at anyone who likes anything post), lucas lunatics(basically ot fanatics but they like the prequels) political fans(you know the ones). fans: pt enjoyer (loves pt usually likes ot but usually doesnt like st but doesnt harrass anyone who does) fans (people who like it all but dont call people who dont like it evil and is understanding) ot purist(people who only like ot but allow others to like other movies). there are different subspecies but these are the base forms. personally im a prequel enjoyer.
When GoT started sucking, or when ATLA gets a poor adaptation, NOBODY blames the fans for not liking it. They don’t get called bigots, and they don’t get hit with “Nobody hates this media like the fans do!” (That’s stupid as fuck anyway, of course fans care more) I’ve only seen this phenomenon for Marvel and Star Wars. At this point, I don’t know if you’re paid to defend the garbage, bots, or genuinely have nothing else going on and you think you’re getting one up on “the chuds“

I agree with most of this but tbh I think it’s a pretty dumb view to think that people should automatically like something just because they make more Star Wars Like things like Kenobi do have objectively terrible and nonsensical stories with bad production quality for such large budgets and the acolyte isn’t much better
I’m not even a Star Wars fan, it bores me too much. But I watched The Last Jedi at school for May 4th and I enjoyed the film. And I’m glad I liked that one movie and that movie only bc I can’t stand just hating shit if it ain’t problematic. It didn’t kick my dog, it didn’t call me a slur, I didn’t say children deserve to die. It’s just a fantasy’s sci-fi movie.
Also everyone hates The Acolyte, just because it made by a queer woman and has queer characters and proposing colour in it. Well Andor has queer characters in it and people like them and there's Lando and fans love him! Also at least The Acolyte is trying to do something new and different, oh wait Star Wars fans hate it when the series tries to do something new and different because

Also it’s kinda dishonest to tell people who actively dislike the prequels that they are the same people who caused an actor to commit suicide. Even if Disney and Kathleen Kennedy are bad writers they are very good at finding talented directors
Ironic that people would complain about the “Toxic” behavior of Star Wars fans not liking Disney’s content while at the same time these very same people were cheering on Gina Carano being fired and were attacking her for expressing her opinion.

(A tactic I've seen too many bigots use) He refused to believe that fans were being racist toward a Kenobi actress and proceeded to shift the blame to Disney for having the audacity to call fans toxic! His critique on women saving men also turned me away. Example: Moonlight series, he didn't like that the main character got saved by his mercenary ex-girlfriend despite literally being demonstrated that the main character was currently in his civilian persona. Instead, the drinker blamed wokeness, completely ignoring the story.

I used to watch him quite a lot and the closest he ever got to being racist was saying that he didn’t like it when companies swapped around genders and race of beloved and characters people already know

If they don't like a movie, they will mention women or minorities at least once. It's immature. If you watch his videos, you'll notice it, too. He MUST mention someone's ethnicity even at the most irrelevant moments. If actors are white or men complete silence. 1 second of screen time of a black character suddenly the video focuses on how woke a sci-fi franchise is.
